This course is a basic overview of health and safety standards and practices in child care programs. Topics addressed include:
- Prevention of SIDS and safe sleep practices
- Prevention of shaken baby syndrome and abusive head trauma
- Infectious Disease Prevention and Control
- Administration of medication and parental consent
- Prevention and response to food and allergy emergencies
- Emergency preparedness and disaster response
- Building and physical premises safety (including identification and protection from hazards that can cause bodily injury)
- Handling/storage of hazardous materials and disposal of bio-contaminants
- Transportation of children
- First aid and CPR
Please note this is a very basic training overview in First Aid and CPR and does not imply certification in any way at the completion of this course.
