Stephen Browne

Founded in 1983, Paul Comstock Partners is a fee-only, employee owned registered investment advisory firm. Comstock serves as an outsourced CIO to high net worth individuals, families, private fiduciaries, private and public exempt organizations with leadership designed to maximize the economic and non-economic benefits of their financial capital. The firm is distinguished by independent and innovative thinking that’s grounded on industry best practices, proprietary research and aggressive oversight. His responsibilities include the supervision of the research staff in all areas of investment strategic planning, delegated manager evaluation and performance monitoring, asset allocation strategies, capital market analysis, and all private equity and real estate due diligence efforts.
Steve is a CFA® Charterholder and a member of the Houston Society of Financial Analysts. He received his MBA from Texas Christian University, with a concentration in Finance and received his Bachelors from the University of North Texas. He currently serves on an advisory board for Including Kids Inc., a Houston-based nonprofit focusing on providing services to children and young adults with Autism. He is also a member of Guitar Houston, a local organization dedicated to promoting the classical guitar.
Ivana Kovacevic Rouse

Ms. Rouse has significant experience with hedge funds, private equity funds and hybrid funds pursuing a variety of investment strategies, including energy, commodities, cryptocurrency, emerging markets, distressed debt, event-driven, asset-backed, macro, real estate and funds of funds. She also represents fund sponsors and institutional investors, including institutional money managers, government plans and public company pension plans, investing in such funds.
Ms. Rouse regularly advises management companies in connection with fundraising, registration, investment activities (including negotiating side letters, direct equity and other forms of convertible investments), marketing, ongoing compliance and operational issues. Additionally, she advises management companies on internal structuring issues such as mergers, spin-offs, profit sharing arrangements and seeding transactions.

Timothy Peterson
Organization: Cane Island Global Macro
Timothy is the founder and investment manager for Cane Island Global Macro, as well as Cane Island Crypto Indices which tracks values of various digital currencies. He recently authored “Metcalfe’s Law as a Model for Bitcoin’s Value” published in CAIA’s Alternative Investment Analyst Review. A respected authority on alternative investments, Timothy is the author of Performance Measurement for Alternative Investments, a handbook for practitioners in alternative investments.
Timothy is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) and Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst (CAIA). He is a dual graduate of the University of Colorado with a Master of Science Degree in Finance and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics.
Suresh Raghavan
Organization: MBR Financial
Suresh Raghavan CFA, graduated from the University of Chennai, India with a Bachelors degree in Commerce and an MBA from Syracuse University. Suresh began his career in accounting and audit, served as a fixed income analyst at Schroder Capital and at CIGNA where he managed portfolios in fixed income, emerging markets and served on the asset allocation committee.
In 2003 he brought an institutional discipline to Stavis Margolis Advisory Services, serving as the CIO until 2010 when he formed Raghavan Financial, Inc. Mary, Trey and Suresh merged their practices together in September 2011 to form MBR Financial.
Suresh is a CFA Charterholder and serves on the City of Houston's Investment Advisory Committee as well as the Treasurer for Houston Arts Alliance - a public private partnership for furthering the arts in the City of Houston.
Rasool Shaik
Organization: EMC Capital Management
Rasool is the Co-founder and the Managing Principal of EMC Capital Management, a quantitative investment firm focused on long/short equity strategies. EMC's primary investment objective is to offer asymmetric risk/reward strategies - generally offering enhanced downside protection and meaningful upside optionality.
Prior to EMC, he was the Director of Research and Portfolio Manager at Bridgeway Capital Management where he managed $3.0 billion in various equity strategies. At Bridgeway, he developed and managed several innovative value funds that significantly outperformed their benchmarks and were rated 5-star by Morningstar.
Prior to Bridgeway, he developed big data solutions to manage complex supply chains. Rasool received B.S. from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Bombay, M.S. from Michigan Technological University, and an M.B.A. from the University of Chicago. He has been a CFA charter holder since 2007. He serves on the Board of the Houston Chapter of Pratham, the largest non-profit focused on childhood literacy in India.
Shi Weidong
Organization: University of Houston
Larry Shi is currently an Associate Professor of Computer Science Department at University of Houston. He received his Ph.D. from Georgia Tech. He was previously a senior research staff member of Motorola Corporate Research Lab, and senior researcher of Nokia Research Center at Palo Alto.
He leads a blockchain and distributed ledger research team at UH and has published more than 12 peer reviewed academic articles on blockchain, crypto-currency, and its applications since 2016.
Since joining UH as a faculty member, his research has been supported by the National Science Foundation, Department of Homeland Security, North Atlantic Treaty Organization, Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency, and industry. Mr. Shi is a senior member of the IEEE.
