Mason Rudolph named as finalist for inaugural Jason Witten Collegiate Man of the Year Award
Oklahoma State quarterback Mason Rudolph has been named one of three finalists for the inaugural Jason Witten Collegiate Man of the Year Award.
The award recognizes exemplary leadership both on and off the field, and the winner will receive a $10,000 contribution in his name to his school's athletic scholarship fund. The contribution will be made by Witten's SCORE Foundation, the official charity of the Dallas Cowboys tight end and his wife, Michelle.
The other three finalists include Alabama defensive back Minkah Fitzpatrick and Central Florida linebacker Shaquem Griffin.
Rudolph, who was named a finalist Tuesday, threw for 4,553 yards and 35 touchdowns during his senior year in Stillwater. He also ran for 10 touchdowns.
In late November, Rudolph was named the winner of the 2017 recipient of the Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Award, which honors the top senior quarterback or fourth-year junior on schedule to graduate with his class. Rudolph also is a finalist for the Fellowship of Christian Athletes' Bobby Bowden Award.
The winner of the Jason Witten Collegiate Man of the Year Award will be announced during an award ceremony Feb. 22 at The Star in Frisco, Texas.
