Dominik is the owner of the expansion team the Arizona Vengeance, who we have come to get to know quite well through the series. For all his power and authority, Dominik is extremely compassionate and generous; having had a rough time growing up in foster care, Dominik does his best to pay his good fortune forward. He is also extremely attracted to Willow, Dax‘s little sister, and he isn’t discreet about his intent to court her. It is really funny watching Dominik tease Dax about his interest in his sister. Willow is a bit of a conundrum; while she is independent and courageous, she is also insecure, hence her attempts to push Dominik away. Having been hurt in a previous relationship and with the nature of her profession, Willow has vowed to avoid serious relationships. While Dominik agrees to Willow’s demand for a no-strings-attached fling, he plans to ingratiate himself into her life so well that she can’t help but fall for him. You have got to love a man with a plan. The chemistry is off the charts between Willow and Dominik, however, there is a strong element of compatibility and ease with each other that is a special and rare element to most relationships. They compliment each other and fit seamlessly together. Unfortunately, there is still the issue of Willow’s very dangerous job as a photo-journalist; something which causes a rift between Willow and Dominik making Willow react rashly. The photo-journalist element of the plot was very thought-provoking; world news is a staple of modern life and something I, for one, take for granted, not fully accepting that people are literally putting their lives in danger to bring us this news. I have to say my eyes have definitely been opened and I now appreciate journalists a lot more, although not the gossip hounds. I adored the cross-over plot with Sawyer’s other series Jameson Force Security adding depth and insight into the continuing plots in both series. Not only does Dominik provide a heart-warming romance it also re-enforces the notion that family is not only about those related by blood but by the way in which you look after and care about each other.

This is book #6, in the Arizona Vengeance series. This book can be read as a standalone novel. For read understanding, and to avoid spoilers, I recommend reading this hot series in order. Willow is not often in one place. Busy making her career matter, she is stopping for just a short while to watch her brother play in the playoffs. Rooting him on is a joy, and one she won't miss. There is only one catch - Dominik will be there. Dominik gets hot all over just thinking about the last time he was alone with Willow. She classifies as both the forbidden, and the one that got away. If only he can get her alone again he can show her more reason to stay. This book started off with the heat kind of sizzling of the pages and wafting up to me, the reader. I love how the strong attraction was only a piece of the puzzle. This author is wonderful at giving us seriously complicated and sexy-as-hell characters. What a great combination with these two! So hard to put down. So I read as fast as I could to get to the conclusion. ***This ARC copy was given in exchange for an honest review only.

I couldn't wait to get my hands on Dominik's story. The enigmatic team owner with a heart of gold has intrigued me from the start of the Arizona Vengeance series. I loved finally getting into his head and finding out more about his past. This is book 6 in the series, but can be read as a standalone. Previous couples and characters do appear, however, so the book would best be enjoyed in order. The back and forth between Dominik and Willow was great and I really enjoyed the chase. Both are very sexually open and free and I appreciated that the author celebrated this. Dominik and Willow had fantastic chemistry and I loved that once they enter into their arrangement, they only have eyes for each other. Yes, there's the inevitable push away as things develop into more (which honestly made me want to smack some sense into the characters), but I loved how much they truly saw the other. I enjoyed this one a lot, but did wish for more exploration into Dominik and Willow's relationship. The book told Dominik and Willow's story, but in many ways it also felt like a big Arizona Vengeance hug. The previous couples and characters make numerous appearances and play an integral part in the story. Even if you haven't read those books, the author does an excellent job getting you up to speed so that you can appreciate the camaraderie and friendship between these characters. I especially loved the surprise cross-overs between Sawyer Bennett's other worlds and how it tied everyone together. The stage is now set for Wylde to take a huge fall (into love) in the next book and I can't wait! 3.5 stars *I voluntarily read an advance review copy of this book*
