The WERKshop
A collaborative learning space for first-gen femme & NB graduate students of color studying race, media, queer theory, platforms, and digital communication. We will have 4 events during the fall semester, and, depending on participant goals, smaller group sessions in between. We welcome graduate students in their second year and beyond.

We want you to create this space with us. If you're interested in participating, please fill out this form and tell us a little about yourself, your research interests, your program, and what would be most helpful in a facilitated space! Please complete this form by August 13, 2021*. The full schedule of programming will be released by August 18th.

(Deadline was extended from August 11th!)

Tell us about you! Are there any identities of yours that are more important to you? Which of those identities do you want to be “seen” by others? Examples can be but are not limited to: Queerness, Blackness, Muslim, femininity, latinidad, disability, working class, anti capitalist, anti-racist, communist, etc.
Tell us about your research! Topics, where you're at in the process, what you've done, what you'd like to do. *
What is missing from your current program? *
When/where do you feel most supported? *
We ask that participants have a goal for the workshop - what do you want to have learned/completed/accomplished by the end of the semester? (Examples: I want to use this space for writing accountability; I want to finish X amount of X project; I want to make connections with people in my field; I want to get feedback on X; etc.) How can we make this space beneficial for you? *
What role do you fill in groups? Do you like to be out front leading and making decisions, or supporting and getting tasks done from a quiet place? *
How do you like/feel comfortable receiving praise? *
Anything else you want us to know?
