  • 1/10 Software Carpentry Workshop - R and Git

The Department of Ecology and Evolutionary Biology will host a Software Carpentry workshop on January 10-11. This workshop will teach R for reproducible research and Git for collaboration. Please register if you plan to attend.

Though the workshop will be geared towards early career graduate students, this workshop is also accessible to faculty, staff, or advanced undergraduates.

Software Carpentry workshops are one of the better curricula for people who are starting from square one, but they also offer some useful nuggets for experienced programmers. Additionally, it aims to build skills that can be transferred to other programming languages. Having this background will ease the learning curve in many classes that include a programming component, as well as making your research more efficient.

Software Carpentry is a non-profit whose goal is to teach basic computing and programming skills to researchers. The workshops are FREE two day affairs that do not assume prior programming knowledge.
