Ohio Administrative Code (OAC) Rule Comments
The Ohio Department of Education and Workforce drafts and edits administrative rules in accordance with Ohio Revised Code 3301.138. During the rulemaking process there are several opportunities to comment on new, current, and proposed rules.
The Department makes every effort to solicit input from affected organizations and individuals during the rule making process. Public comment opportunities are announced on this page and in EdConnection, the Department's weekly newsletter. Subscribe to EdConnection to be notified when rules are posted for comment. The Department may also send out additional e-notification alerts to interested parties.
Some Department rules are filed with the Common Sense Initiative (CSI). Rules open for comment with CSI will be posted on this page.

The Department of Education and Workforce intends to initiate rulemaking regarding the standards for providing virtual services by registered private providers in the Autism and Jon Peterson Special Needs Scholarship Program. During the rule process, there will be multiple opportunities to provide testimony and comment on the draft rule when it is available. Please continue to monitor the rule comment page for additional information and opportunities to provide comment during this rulemaking process.
