Conference Event Page

Program Proposal Deadline: January 31, 2018 at 11:59 pm EST
Notification of Program Status: March 30, 2018

The NASPA Region ll Conference Committee invites you to join us in New York City in June 2018 to reflect on our collective and individual goals, passions, and purposes of NASPA and student affairs.

We encourage presenters to focus on the four pillars of NASPA - Inquiry, Inclusion, Integrity, and Innovation. The values of our organization reflect the spirit, purpose, and curiosity of its members. As student affairs professionals and NASPA members, we strive to offer leadership, scholarship, and professional development to student affairs. In honoring our mission, proposals may reflect the core of what NASPA means to them and how their program embodies the organization's guiding principles.

Proposals will be evaluated based on the following:  session content, the Professional Competency Areas for Student Affairs, evidence of clearly stated outcomes and objectives, contribution to the knowledge and practice of student affairs, and adherence to program submission guidelines.

Program submissions are being accepted for the following program formats:

  • General Sessions, 50 minutes
  • Conversations that Matter, a 75 minute session comprised of a 25 minute presentation by the presenter and 50 minutes of discussion with the participants. Please make sure to include in your outline how you will ensure the session is interactive and participants will engage in conversation.
  • Ignite, 5 minute presentations similar to Pecha Kecha. 20 timed slides transition every 15 seconds. Multiple Ignite sessions will be presented in one session block.

Please ensure in the justification section that you address how you will utilize the specific format and why it is best suited for your topic.

Please submit demographic information for the coordinating presenter, and complete all of the fields below.

For longer text fields such as the program abstract and outline, you may find it easier to type in a word processing program and cut and paste the text into the space provided.
