Best Ohio Attraction (2017)
The Buckeye State, also known as the Gateway to the West, embodies not only the spirit of the Midwest, but the spirit of the nation as a whole. Within its bounds, travelers can ride a buggy through the country's largest Amish community, tour one of its greatest art collections, ride one of its fastest roller coasters and see some of its oldest manmade structures.

At the center of University Circle, the Cleveland Museum of Art encompasses some 70 galleries with art spanning from Mediterranean antiquity to the modern day. There's a little bit of everything here, including works by Picasso, Monet, Van Gogh and Michelangelo. Even non-art lovers will have something to look at – Egyptian mummies, African masks and a collection of medieval weaponry.

The 88-acre Franklin Park Conservatory and Botanical Gardens in Columbus, Ohio includes 83,000-square-feet of greenhouse space, a signature collection of works by Dale Chihuly on long-term display, a community garden, two rooftop gardens and a mile-long walking loop connecting it all together.

Stan Hywet Hall, Akron, Ohio's first and largest National Historic Landmark, is the nation's sixth largest historic home open to the public. The Tudor mansion was built by Goodyear Tire & Rubber co-founder F.A. Seiberling between 1912 and 1915, and in 1957 the Seiberling children gifted Stan Hywet to Akron.

Located on a Lake Erie peninsula in Sandusky, Ohio, Cedar Point bills itself as "the roller coaster capital of the world" with 17 thrilling coasters covering 10 miles of track (out of more than 70 total rides). The 364-acre park has a history dating back to 1870, making it the second oldest continually operated amusement park on the continent.
