Libraries Bridging the Gap Between Innovation and Entrepreneurship: About Us

About the Entrepreneurship Workshop Series

A team of four librarians was granted a 2018 QEP Enhancement Award for the project entitled “Libraries Bridging the Gap between Innovation and Entrepreneurship”. Consisting of four major events, this program is intended to encourage entrepreneurial activities at UCF by fostering an educational environment among participating departments and units that informs, supports, and inspires students.

The UCF librarians comprising the team are as follows:

What does QEP stand for?

The Quality Enhancement Plan (QEP) is a university-wide initiative that is a component of accreditation with the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC). The theme of UCF's current Quality Enhancement Plan is What's Next: Integrative Learning for Professional and Civic Preparation. Its mission: to "prepare our graduates to successfully enter and participate in the next steps of their professional and civic lives" by helping them:

  • PLAN their futures post-graduation by identifying the skills and knowledge they require to attain their goals
  • CONNECT their classroom knowledge and skills transferring them to real-world contexts
  • REFLECT on and communicate their experiences, successfully advocating for themselves beyond the university
