(KUTV) Every year, a company called Ice Castles builds a large ice castle right in the the city of Midway, Utah.
To kick off 2017, the 70,000-square-feet castle is being constructed right behind the Homestead Resort and crews have been hard at work for weeks getting it ready.
"There's no framework there's no wood, there's no metal," said site manager Jesse Stone. "We try to keep the ice castle fairly organic."
The ice castle opens up Dec. 27 at 6 p.m. For directions on how to get to the castle or general ticket information visit IceCastles.com/midway.
