Journey Adventist Church Starts New Christmas Tradition

An arsonist interrupted nearly 20 years of Christmas tradition in 2015 by burning down many of the props that Journey Adventist Church used to stage “Journey to Bethlehem,” its annual production about the story of Christ’s nativity.

Two years later, the church has hired a new pastor and is beginning a new tradition with a scaled-down, four-weekend series called “Witnesses to the Manger.” Read more...

Christmas Special "The Promise"
to Air on NBC

Breath of Life Television Ministries has helped produce a Christmas special that will be shown nationally on NBC affiliates throughout the US on Christmas Day, December 25. The special features the preaching by Dr. Carlton P. Byrd, and the music ministry Grammy Award winning artists, Fred Hammond and Sandi Patty, along with the Oakwood University Aeolians and Orchestra.

Oliva Safotu (Maria) – has resigned his position as pastor of the White City Samoan Church.

Talalelei Uta (Toga) – from the Central California Conference, has started as part-time pastor for the White City Samoan congregation.

Myckal Morehouse (Delaney) – from the Arizona Conference, has stepped in as pastor for Stone Tower Church.

James Ash (Joy) – a previous Oregon Conference pastor, has returned to pastor the Central Point and Shady Point congregations.

John Bryson (Joan) – has come from Montana Conference to be associate pastor for the Adventist Community Church of Vancouver.

Don James (Ruth) – have joined the Oregon Conference from Andrews University, to be the part-time interim pastor for the Valley View and Ashland Churches.

Ricardo Torres (Ivelisse) – has retired as pastor of the Maranatha Spanish Church.

Fredy Reinosa (Primrose) – have come from the Potomac Conference to pastor the Hood River Spanish and The Dalles Spanish Churches.

Paul Cole (Coralie) – has retired as executive director of Portland Adventist Community Services (PACS).

Mark Fulop (Jessyca Laing) – has stepped in as the new executive director for PACS.

Samuel Tahay (Teresa) – has retired from pastoring the Canby Spanish Church.

Heidi Lorenson (Donald) – resigned her position at the Adventist Book Center (ABC).

Brenda Dobson (Frank) – has resigned her position at the ABC.

Joan Bryson (John) – will be the new part-time periodical clerk for the ABC.

Amy Quinn (Timothy) – will be transitioning from on-call cashier to part-time receiving clerk for the ABC.
