ABOUT ME

The unexpected death of someone you love by suicide is traumatic, misunderstood and a devastating ending; leaving so many unanswered questions in its wake. Your loved one’s life is re-evaluated, judged, and at a minimum, questioned. Exhausting and impossible questions overshadow your overwhelming pain and sadness.Your grief is complicated, messy and haunting. The “harmful and ill-conceived stigma” associated with suicide deaths, shrouds loved ones left behind and robs them of complete and unreserved Grief.

Marci’s husband of 34 years died by suicide in August 2014, and in March 2019, her second husband of eight months also died by suicide. Both husbands were 58 years young when they died. And both were “asymptomatic” for the unseen deadly depression, and dangerous anxiety, lying within.

In the grip of unrelenting pain and with dogged determination, Marci meets Grief head-on. With candid openness, she opens the door into her personal story of lost love, betrayal, abandonment, shattered dreams, and unanswered questions. Marci uses her grief and sets out to expose the ill-conceived and biased attitudes toward mental illnesses standing in the way and keeping many individuals battling depression and anxiety from seeking help, particularly men.

From the first page, her riveting, original and profoundly moving open letter to mental illness exposes the insidious way it torments and holds captive its victims under the guise of silence. And why no one could see the end coming. Twice.

Marci’s willingness to be vulnerable and tell her story with honesty and grace allows her the freedom to heal, the desire to embrace life again, and gives hope to others facing the loss of a loved one.

Marci lives in Southern California and is the CEO of a family-owned packing supply and supply chain logistics company. She enjoys spending as much time as possible with her family and friends, traveling, and endless hours of genealogy research.
