Trey Porter

Trey Porter is in his first year as an assistant coach on the coaching staff at Missouri Southern. He will be responsible for coaching the defensive backs for the Green and Gold.  

Porter comes to the Lions from Jackson High School in Jackson, GA where he was an assistant coach and recruiting coordinator for one season.  

Before going to Georgia, from 2017-2019 Porter served as the Head Coach and Athletic Director at Roosevelt High School in St. Louis, MO. Porter turned Roosevelt around after his first year of going 1-9, the team would later finish 19-5 in the next two years winning 1 District Championship. In 2018 his cornerback led the nation in interceptions with 16. Porter called one of the best offenses in the state from 2018-2019, Roosevelt Roughriders had over 4,000 yards of total offense both years averaging just under 40ppg. 

From 2012-2016 Porter had stops as an Offensive Coordinator and Defensive Coordinator at Vashon, Hayti, and East Prairie High Schools. 

Porter played running back at Southeast Missouri State University from 2008-2011. He also participated in track in field helping the Redhawks win Conference (OVC) title in 2008 

A native of Malden, MO., Porter graduated from Southeast Missouri State with a bachelor's degree in Special Education. He earned his master's degree in Secondary Administration from SEMO in 2020.
