Prior to Southern
Bates was a three-year letter winner for coach Jim Brown at Raymore-Perculiar high school as a pitcher... As a junior Bates finished the season with 149 strikeouts while being named a first-team All-District and All-Region selection and a second-team All-Conference and All-State honoree...  Was a member of the Panthers teams that finished third in Class 4 in 2018 and were runners-up in Class 4 in 2019... An accomplished student as well Bates has been named onto the Raymore-Perculiar principals Honor Roll four times, and been a Lamp of Learning and earned a Academic Letter twice.

Natalie is the daughter of Mandy and Jamie Bates and plans to major in nursing during her time at Southern.
