DAVIE, Fla. –
Juan Jose Guerra added a memorable championship moment to his already impressive career at Nova Southeastern on Tuesday. Neck-and-neck with Barry's Niclas Weiland at nine-under par and two holes to play, the junior drained consecutive birdies down the stretch to clinch the 2018 Men's Sunshine State Conference Championship. Closing on No. 9. Guerra hit his drive into the fairway bunker, yet drilled his approach within three feet to seal the victory at 11-under for the tournament.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- With the sunshine finally making an appearance on Tuesday, the play started to heat up at Grande Oaks Golf Club. The Sharks wrapped up the second round with the low score of the morning of (-7) 277 before firing a (-10) 274 to collect fourth overall. Despite a number of remarkable performances, though, nobody was getting in the way of Florida Tech. The Panthers set the new single-round record at the SSC Championship with a final round of (-16) 268 to capture the team championship by four strokes over Florida Southern.
- Finlay Mason was one of three Nova Southeastern players to finish among the field's Top-20, piecing together rounds of 67 and 72 to earn a share of 12th. Joining Mason with the Top-20 was Benjamin Hjort, who made a considerable push into a tie for 20th at three-over par for the week.
- Martin Larrea carded two straight rounds of even-par 71 on Tuesday to tie for 28th, while Tomas Millet saved his best effort for the final 18 holes, posting a (-3) 68 to tie for 31st in his first career SSC Championship appearance.
