“It’s a great day for preservation,” preservationist Candace Fountoulakis said Thursday morning. After years of discussion, a failed bond election and demolition discussions, the Collinwood House – Plano’s oldest home – has a bright future of renovation and refurbishing ahead of it thanks to year of community advocacy and a donation from one of Plano’s founding families, the Haggards.

Early Thursday, Clint and Rutledge Haggard looked on as the Lemons Moving Company prepared to relocate Collinwood from Windhaven Meadows Park to its permanent home on the Haggard family’s 280-acre parcel on Plano’s west side.
