Three more mosquito traps in Plano have returned positive results for the West Nile virus, according to a city news release.

Weather permitting, the city will spray all three areas near the traps beginning 9 p.m. Thursday.

One of the areas to be sprayed is bordered by Bigleaf Court, East Park Boulevard, P Ave. and Royal Oaks Drive. The second area to be sprayed is bordered by Palomino Drive, Glen Hollow Drive, Gentle Way and Dallas North Tollway. The third area to be sprayed is bordered by Panther Ridge Lane, Primavera Drive, East Parker Road, Nutwood Lane.

The city has asked residents to ensure children and pets remain indoors during the time of the spraying.

In order to prevent the spread of West Nile virus, the city also asked residents to drain standing water in or around their homes, dress appropriately before going outdoors, and wear bug spray containing DEET.
