The six-year project at the ClubCorp property in Plano, Texas included upgrades to its two championship golf courses and driving range, and construction of a new restaurant and grill area, outdoor terrace, bar and wine cellar and women’s locker room.
Gleneagles Country Club, a private club established in Plano, Texas in 1985 and a member of the ClubCorp family of clubs, has completed its six-year, $8.248 million improvement project, which entailed upgrades to its two championship golf courses, driving range, tennis courts, pool facilities, fitness club and kids club, Plano Magazine reported.
The project also included the construction of a new restaurant and grill area, outdoor terrace, bar and wine cellar and women’s locker room, Plano Magazine reported.
Through the golf course renovations, Gleneagles now offers its members a new and improved King’s Course, complete with the installation of MiniVerde grass on the greens, redesigned square tee boxes, premium white sand bunkers and water features, Plano Magazine reported.
Renovations were also made to the Queen’s Course, improving the bentgrass greens and adding premium white-sand bunkers. A 2,220-sq. ft. outdoor terrace overlooking the Queen’s Course for al fresco dining was also added.
Gleneagles also enhanced its driving-range experience by doubling the size of the previous hitting deck and adding a new outdoor lounge area with many amenities such as fire pits, grills and a state-of-the-art entertainment system, Plano Magazine reported.
The tennis facilities were updated, adding pickleball lines to the courts and adding an observatory tennis deck. In addition to the tennis court improvements,
Gleneagles also added new cabanas, lounge chairs, a waterslide and a playground to the pool area at the club. The fitness center and ladies’ locker room were both revamped, complete with luxury amenities.
The private-event space now has an upgraded bar, a premiere audio/visual system and new design features such as darkened wood, contemporary artwork and modern lighting.
The 5401 Grille is the new restaurant at the country club, Plano Magazine reported, offering views of the golf course. Additionally, The Cellar, the new wine bar, was added providing handcrafted cocktails, high-end collections and an extensive wine cellar with more than 125 selections to choose from.
“We are thrilled with the upgrades made to Gleneagles,” said Lisa Neel, the club’s General Manager. “Although it’s been a journey, the renovations made to the club will better serve our members, giving them a contemporary, comfortable space to enjoy all of Gleneagles’ amenities.
“This renovation project not only emphasizes our dedication to the future of Gleneagles, but also upholds the club’s 33-year tradition of excellence,” Neel added.
