Charges are pending in relation to a fight that happened in a Chartiers Valley High School girls’ bathroom, according to police.

Charges are pending in connection with a fight inside a high school girls’ bathroom caught on camera and circulated widely across social media, according to Collier authorities.

The footage of the fight inside a bathroom at Chartiers Valley High School appears to show a brief exchange of words between two girls, one of whom had just walked out of a bathroom stall and appeared to be wearing a hijab.

The conversation is not clear, but a girl in a purple shirt seems to tell the other, “You’re lucky you’re from another language, I would crush you, (expletive).”

The video shows the student in purple shove the other back into the bathroom stall and, after a brief tussle, she shoves her to the floor and continues to strike her.

Collier police Chief Craig Campbell said a school resource officer, who is a township officer, is investigating the incident and charges are pending.

“At this point, there is no indication that the incident is racially or religiously motivated or involves any kind of hate crime,” Campbell said in a statement.

He declined further comment because those involved are juveniles.

A statement from the school district to Tribune-Review news partner WPXI-TV said the district “does not condone or tolerate violence of any kind,” and officials will “enforce consequences.”
