Erin Landry

We got another sneak peek now for Monday’s The Bachelorand in this one, we learn a thing or two more about Erin Landry. Or, to be specific, we learn that she is going to be the show’s version of Cinderella.

Just in watching the new preview below (via Us Weekly), it should be pretty clear that production was eagerly craving a chance to bring someone in via horse and carriage. We don’t know if this was Erin’s idea or production’s, but obviously they were both keen to make it happen. Erin’s arriving with the iconic dress, her own version of the glass slipper, and just about everything else romantic that you could fathom. Yet, there’s no guarantee that Colton Underwood is going to be her Prince Charming. Beyond just that, there’s no guarantee that she is the right person for him.

Is this the perfect entrance for a show like this? From the vantage point of relatability, we totally get why Erin would want to do this! She won’t be forgotten either now or in the future, but if she is overtly comparing herself to Cinderella that is setting a rather high bar. We’re not saying that Cinderella is an ideal by any means, since it’s a fairy tale that doesn’t often give you a full depth of character. The problem is that if Colton just thinks about her as Cinderella and not anything else, is he really going to get to know her? Is everything with her going to be viewed from this particular lens moving forward this season?

What else we know

ABC isn’t directly spoiling too much else about who Erin is — heck, ABC is even referring to her as “Cinderella” in the spot typically reserved for an occupation. Obviously, she isn’t making a full-time salary going around and doing this. She’s actually from Plano, Texas, a wealthy suburb of Dallas (which we know as someone who grew up in the DFW area). She may have a few friends in Bachelor Nation at this point, given that Dallas has become quite a hotbed for contestants from this franchise.

Our feeling is that after an entrance like this, it’s going to be hard to eliminate Erin right away. Yet, it’s also hard to feel extremely confident that she is going to make it all the way to the end of the season, either. We just think that the people with the big limo exits only rarely make it far into the competition.
