Jenny Scheinman's Kannapolis: A Moving Portrait: Is a beautifully coordinated melding of music and film. It is a vivid image of small town life, morphing back and forth almost imperceptibly between black-and-white and color. In this new live music and film piece, acclaimed musician Jenny Scheinman invites us into the captivating visual world of H. Thalian Association Community Theatre: Holding auditions for a special presentation Neil Simon’s farce, "Rumors," 7 p.m. at the Hannah Block Historic USO/Community Arts Center, 120 S. Second St., downtown Wilmington. Audition participants need to be prepared to read from a provided script. All roles are available.

Northside Town Hall meeting: Hosted by the Blue Ribbon Commission, in partnership with local organizations and community partners, 6-8 p.m. at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church, 600 Grace St., Wilmington. The evening’s discussion will focus on the leading concerns identified by a community health assessment done in the Northside in 2018. Those topics include food, housing, healthcare, safety, community relations, and education. The public is invited, and refreshments will be available. "Almost, Maine": Presented by Brunswick Little Theatre. "Almost, Maine," surreal play by John Cariani comprised of a series of loosely connected stories about love. It's set in the fictional town of the title, which takes its name from being "almost" in Canada (among other reasons). UNCW Department of History Presents: A Public Symposium featuring Susan P.
