Any cemetery index in printed or database format does not present original data. The data has been transcribed, edited, and re-formatted. Some errors may occur along the way. In every case, the researcher is advised to use an index to locate the cemetery and then to contact that cemetery for further information or actually go to the cemetery to look at the record or tombstone yourself.

Elements of the citation could include: title, author or compiler, publisher, publisher address, date of publication, page number, name of person in record, URL, name of web page, film or fiche number.
