Woman killed in crash with garbage truck in Morton

MORTON, Wash. -- A woman was killed when she crashed into a garbage truck along SR-12 in Morton Wednesday afternoon.

It was around 1:30 p.m. when a woman driving a Nissan Versa heading east crossed the center-line and hit a westbound garbage truck head-on, according to the Washington State Patrol.

The woman was pronounced dead at the scene, says trooper Will Finn. She was later identified as 63-year-old Audrey Reddington of Randle.

The driver of the garbage truck wasn't injured.

The roadway was closed for about 4.5 hours, Finn said.
