We currently offer a wide range of services to clients in the oil and gas, biofuels, electric power generation and transmission, wind and solar energy, and transportation sectors, and we support government agencies across North America.

Our experienced project managers partner with clients to address agency and community concerns, obtain regulatory permits and approvals, maintain compliance, and ensure worker safety, while minimizing impacts on the environment. We help our clients’ projects succeed by pro-actively navigating and effectively managing issues and challenges that arise.

Position Overview

In this full-time, exempt position, the project manager works with project teams and clients to prepare proposals and budgets, develop scopes of work, oversee and manage projects, conduct analyses, interpret analytical data, oversee and write permit applications, and compose technical reports related to the wind energy industry.

Responsibilities

  • Manage wind energy projects independently and with project teams.
  • Manage subconsultants providing technical support (e.g., noise analysis).
  • Serve as a technical/subject matter expert with respect to wind energy projects, including industry trends and permitting requirements.
  • Compose and oversee resource impact and mitigation plans in support of federal, state, and local permitting.
  • Prepare proposals and manage budgets.
  • Understand, meet, and/or manage client expectations, and review deliverables prior to submittal to ensure client expectations are met.
  • Assist in developing an internal wind energy group of staff and clients.

Qualifications

The successful candidate will have the following qualifications and experience:

  • BS/BA or higher in an environmental science or related discipline.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience with managing energy projects, ideally in the wind industry, including resource analyses and/or related experiences with the energy industry.
  • Strong understanding of the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service’s Land-based Wind Energy Guidelines.
  • Strong understanding of GIS data and analysis.
  • Highly organized to manage layout modifications and subsequent impact analyses.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, and ability to strategize on a variety of projects.
  • Strong competency in general MS Office applications (Word, Excel) skills required.
