About Paul Blobaum

I joined the Library Faculty at Governors State University in 2001. I retired in 2021. I hold the rank of Professor Emeritus. My research interests are varied but include copyright in the digital age, scholarly writing and publishing, predatory publishing and publishing scams, social disparities and LGBTQ persons, and the impact of hospital libraries and librarians on health care. I formerly served as the Liaison to the Health Administration, Nursing, Social Work, Addictions Studies and Behavioral Health, Community Health, and Communications Disorders programs. I also served from 2014 until my retirement as Scholarly Communications Librarian, responsible for the University Archives, Manuscripts, and Special Collections, and digital collections (http://opus.govst.edu).

I served on all levels of faculty governance, including President of the Faculty Senate, and currently serve as Chair of the Nursing and Allied Health Resources Section, Medical Library Association. (2015-16) I am past President, Health Science Librarians of Illinois.
