2017: Had a breakout senior season as a wide receiver, appearing in 11 games and starting four … Started four of the last five games, including the final three (ULM, Georgia State, Louisiana, Toledo) … Finished the season with 21 catches (third on team) for 295 yards and one touchdown … Had a career-high 102 receiving yards against Wake Forest and scored on an 84-yard touchdown reception following a forward-flipped shovel pass by Taylor Lamb … Watkins and East Carolina’s Trevon Brown were the only Group of Five players with a reception of at least 80 yards against a Power Five program … The touchdown against Wake Forest was App State’s longest play from scrimmage in 2017, the longest reception by an App State player since 2005 and the seventh-longest reception in school history … The start against ULM was his first career start.

2016: Made eight catches for 78 yards during his sophomore season... Came up big at Akron with four catches for 41 yards ... Added two receptions for 24 yards in a 35-10 win over Texas State ... Had a catch each at Troy and Georgia Southern. 

High School: Attended East Rutherford High School. ... Spent two years at Louisburg College after redshirting as a walk-on defensive back at App State in 2013.
