Biography

Career: Finished career among the App State leaders in receiving yards (No. 5 at 2,382), catches (No. 5 at 190) and receiving touchdowns (tied for No. 7 at 17) … All-Sun Belt recognition in each of final three seasons … Started at Georgia in first game as a true freshman and played in 65 games (missing only a 2020 game against Campbell for COVID-related reasons) and started 30 games (App State often started a second tight end rather than a slot receiver) … In five seasons, App State went 52-14 with three Sun Belt titles (2017-19), an additional Sun Belt East Division title (2021) and four bowl wins (2017-20) … Capital One Orange Bowl National Player of the Week after making 10 catches for 206 yards and one TD against Coastal Carolina in 2021 … Totaled 23 touchdowns with one rushing touchdown (in 2018 bowl game) and five passing touchdowns (three in bowl games) … Was 5 of 11 passing for 127 yards in his career.

2018: Played in all 13 games and started five as a slot receiver … Made 23 catches for 257 yards and three touchdowns, including two in the fourth quarter of an overtime loss at Penn State to open the season … Also threw two touchdown passes on trick plays to give App State a 17-3 lead in the New Orleans Bowl win against Middle Tennessee. Caught a long lateral from quarterback Zac Thomas and fired a 30-yard receiver pass to Thomas Hennigan for the first score and took a reverse flip from Darrynton Evans before tossing an 8-yard score to Thomas, the quarterback … Four-catch, 66-yard receiving effort in the overtime opener at Penn State included a 17-yard touchdown to cut into a 24-10 deficit and a 24-yard touchdown to cut into a 31-17 deficit … Started all five games in which App State didn’t start with two tight ends: Charlotte, Gardner-Webb, South Alabama, Louisiana (regular season) and Coastal Carolina … Other TD reception was a 4-yard catch against Georgia Southern.
