2017-18 CCAA All-Academic Award News Release

SAN RAMON, Calif. -- The California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) announced Wednesday the recipients of the 2017-18 CCAA All-Academic Awards, and 64 Cal Poly Pomona student-athletes were recognized, matching the previous CPP athletic department record of 64 set during the 2015-16 academic year.

Leading the way for the Broncos were the baseball and women's soccer teams, both producing 12 student-athlete honorees for their excellence in the classroom last year, while volleyball had 11 honorees.  A complete list of 2017-18 All-Academic Award winners from Cal Poly Pomona is included below.

"It is a pleasure knowing that Bronco Athletics has such a dedicated student body," said Assistant Athletic Director for Student Services Scott Tsuji. "We of the administration are proud of our student-athletes and understand the difficulty that comes with being on a team and keeping good grades."

In total, 810 student-athletes around the CCAA earned All-Academic status in 2017-18, led by 82 from Chico State.

To be considered eligible for the annual academic honor, undergraduate student-athletes who have competed in a CCAA-sponsored sport and earned a varsity letter during the academic year while earning a 3.40 grade-point average or higher during the designated academic year.
