Directions to Barrister’s Hall
Barrister’s Hall is located on the first floor of the School of Law building. Below are various directions to the Law building. Note: while the address for the law building is Commonwealth Avenue, the building is set back from Comm. Ave and is behind Marsh Plaza, which borders Comm. Ave.
By Air, Bus or Train
By Air
Logan International Airport is located 5 miles east of downtown Boston. It is served by more than forty major airlines, both domestic and international. Free shuttle buses provide service between the airport terminals and the local subway system. Take the airport shuttle from the airport to the nearest subway station (Blue Line, Airport station) and follow the provided directions.
By Bus
Bus service to Boston – including major bus lines such as Greyhound and Peter Pan – is provided through the South Station Bus Terminal. After arriving at the bus terminals, follow the signs leading from the bus terminal to the subway station (Red Line, South Station) and follow the provided directions.
By Train
Rail Service to Boston, including Amtrack and the Commuter Rail, is provided through the South Station and Back Bay Station rail locations. The Back Bay Station is closest to the School of Law, but is not served by all trains. From Back Bay Station, walk down Dartmouth Street to Copley Square and take the “Outbound only” subway station entrance (Green Line, Copley station). Follow the subway directions to campus.
By Public Transportation
Boston University is easily accessible by public transportation. The “B” branch of the MBTA Green Line passes through the campus along Commonwealth Avenue. Directions to the “B” line are as follows:
From Red Line
Take the Red Line train to Park Street Station; transfer to the Green Line “B” Train, west/out bound.
From the Blue Line (including Logan Airport)
Take the Blue Line Train to Government Center; transfer to the Green Line “B” Train, west/out bound.
From the Orange Line
Take the Orange Line Train to Downtown Crossing; follow the underground concourse to the Green Line Park Street Station, then board the “B” Train, west/out bound.
From the Green Line
From Lechmere, Science Park, North Station, or Haymarket – Take any train to Government Center; transfer to the “B” Train. From the Suburban “C” (Cleveland Circle) or “D” (Riverside) Lines – Take any train Inbound to Kenmore Square; change to the outbound platform and board the “B” Train. From the “E” (Heath Street) Line–Take any train Inbound to Arlington Station; change to the outbound platform and board the “B” Train. The “B” branch of the MBTA Green Line passes through the campus along Commonwealth Avenue. Get off at the Boston University (BU) Central stop and cross the street. By Car
From South or West
Take the Massachusetts Turnpike (I-90) East to Exit 18, Allston/ Cambridge. Exit left. Follow signs to Cambridge to the second set of lights. Turn right at the lights; this is Soldiers Field Road/Storrow Drive. Exit Storrow Drive at the Kenmore exit.
From Southeast
Take I-93/Route 3 (Southeast Expressway) North to Boston. Exit onto Storrow Drive (Exit 26). Continue on Storrow Drive to the Kenmore exit.
From North
Take I-93 or Route 1 South to Boston. Exit onto Storrow Drive (Exit 26). Continue on Storrow Drive to the Kenmore exit.
From the North Shore/Logan Airport
Take Route 1-A through the Sumner Tunnel. Follow signs onto the Expressway North. Take the Back Bay/Storrow Drive exit (Exit 26), and follow signs onto Storrow Drive. Continue on Storrow Drive to the Kenmore exit.
Local Directions
At the first set of traffic lights, turn right onto Beacon Street. The road will then fork; the right fork is Bay State Road. The left fork will take you into Kenmore Square. In the Square, bear right onto Commonwealth Avenue. The School of Law is located at 765 Commonwealth Avenue (past the second cross block, Granby Street).
