    Sun City Neighborhood Walk

One of the things I enjoyed while visiting Jodie and Rob in Arizona was walking with them through their neighborhood. I also went on an early morning 4 mile run and ran faster than I had in a while. The land is flat and the air much dryer than Georgia. I really enjoyed seeing the variety of cacti and saw a few other quirky things. Before I forget, I saw quite a few rabbits on these walks and the most memorable bird was a green lovebird. Those rabbits were everywhere! The cacti were starting to bloom and for someone from the south, that is a beautiful sight. All of the…

    Spring Favorites: Style Edition

I thought it would be fun to share some of my favorite outfits I wore this spring. I always feel very proud of myself when I shop my closet, combining thrifted finds with retail finds or when I realize that a purchase was a great one because I love it and wear it repeatedly. I absolutely love the color of this top! I found it on clearance at Belk and wasn’t sure about it at first because of the sleeves. Turns out they are overwhelming and they are kind of fun. Another retail purchase was these denim pants and wanting to bring in spring, I wore sandals for the first…

Stripes for Spring with the Ageless Style Link Up

I love stripes and have multiple striped tops in my closet, so when Joanne suggested stripes for our April Ageless Style post, it was a matter of choosing which top I wanted to highlight. This is probably my oldest striped top in my closet and if I look closely at it, it is starting to show signs of wear and it is pilling some. However the stripe is thinner and the back has a pretty scoop, so I have not been able to part with it yet. But after washing it once more, it was time: this is its swan song! I remember wearing it in France in 2019 and…

    Runner’s Spotlight: Patricia

Every story is unique! Today, Patricia is sharing her story! As an aside, Patricia and her husband put on a 5K this past January: the MLK Community run to support the MLK Celebration Bartow County scholarship funds as well as raise funds for their nephew’s healthcare. Putting on a race is a great accomplishment and there were more than 200 participants which is amazing for a first race. I loved the route and it got me back to wanting to race again. 1. How and when did you start running? I started walk/running after losing my job back in, I think it was 2007. I have always been drawn to…

7 Days of Skirts: Spring 2024 Edition

I enjoy creating this post every fall and spring because it inspires me to shop my closet and wear my skirts in a new way! Some of these skirts are many years old while others are from the past year, some are thrifted, some are retail, but all have a special place in my closet. Modcloth skirt -circa 2018-19 This skirt is still one of my favorite and I always find a new way to style it. Today, it’s with a simple tee and a belt. I added a necklace from my aunt and my white sneakers: you will see that I tend to wear sneakers with skirts and dresses…

Shopping and Fun with Friends – Arizona Edition

What a wonderful weekend in Sun City, Arizona! My weekend with Jodie was just what the doctor ordered. The last 6 months have been interesting to say the least for our household with some adjustment to what is expected of me, and it was time for a break from routine and taking care of everyone, so I could recharge. And recharge I did. All this thanks to being made welcome by Jodie and Rob. Here is a short little look into our weekend and what we did. When I arrived in Phoenix, I was surprised how chilly it was even though I knew that the weather was going to be…

    Desert Botanical Gardens, Phoenix, Arizona

I’ve been back from visiting Jodie (here’s her blog if you don’t know her yet) and Rob in Arizona for a few days and back in the swing of things. It was a wonderful time turning online friends into in person friends. Thank you for your hospitality and making me feel welcome! I enjoyed time with like minded people and Jodie and I were such birds of feather. And I love Arizona! I had visited twice before, once on a visit to Sedona in my late teens, and again a couple of years ago for my brother’s wedding in Scottsdale. I’ve always love cacti, so visiting the botanical gardens was…

Cargo Maxi Skirt and Denim for the Sunday Showcase

I went into Kohls last month to look for a crochet top, but left with a maxi cargo skirt and a pair of sandals! I was actually influenced by a styled mannequin which is a new one for me. I love my olive pants and joggers (I also have an olive skort), and when I saw this maxi with the slits on the side and the cute sandals, I knew I had to try them on. Sadly, the skirt was not on sale, but I did receive a 10% off my purchase when I checked out. I usually do not buy anything not marked down to a certain point at…

Inspired by Marsha in the Middle: Stripes, Denim and Liquid Leather

I love my blog posts where I replicate an outfit inspired by one of my blogger friends! And today, I am sharing an outfit inspired by Marsha from Marsha in the Middle! In her post, she paired her gaucho pants (Clara Sunwoo, here) with a denim jacket, scarf and striped top! Since I had liquid leather pants too (Clara Sunwoo, here), and similar pieces in my closet, it was just the inspiration I need for a spring outfit! I always find it funny how my sons and I will take quick blog pictures! I have learned what poses work for me, and as long as I don’t make a strange…

    Runner’s Spotlight: Scott

All of the runners in our running club have unique stories! When Scott shared his story with our group a few weeks ago, I asked his permission to share his story here as it touched my heart. It reminded me how we all have different reasons we run, and how running has become an integral part of our journey. Not just our journey in our physical health, but mental health too. This is what he shared with us, and it tried to only edit it minimally. Scott’s Story So, when David brought up speaking to you, I was at a loss of what I could tell you guys, as you…
