A former Topeka Unified School District 501 music teacher was arrested Tuesday in connection with a child sex crime.
Gerald F. Boster, 65, was booked into the Shawnee County Jail in connection with sexual exploitation of a child.
Misty Kruger, director of communications for USD 501, said Boster taught in the district from 1986 to 2014.
Boster was being held on a $200,000 bond, and his next court date is set for Jan. 1, 2019, according to the Shawnee County Department of Corrections website.
Capital-Journal archives show the district announced Boster's retirement in 2014, saying he had worked at Avondale West, Lowman Hill, Quincy, Ross and Stout elementary schools.
