Camp Music Videos

During each Hip Hop Architecture Camp®, our participants learn how to write and record a track based on their observations, critiques, and visions for their communities. Please view and share our videos with your friends!

Detroit

The “Black Bottom” track was recorded as part of The Detroit Hip Hop Architecture Camp. Black Bottom was a historic African American community in The City of Detroit which was destroyed by the construction of Interstates I-75 and I-375. Participants created visions for capping the expressway and building a new Black Bottom!

Washington DC

“2%, Ain’t Enough” was recorded as part of The Washington DC Hip Hop Architecture Camp hosted by National Council of Architecture Registration Boards (NCARB). The song’s chorus called attention to the fact that only 2% of architects in the US are African American and that’s not enough!

Chicago

“Build The Hood Up, Put The Guns Down” was recorded as part of The Chicago Hip Hop Architecture Camp. Participants created a track encouraging Chicago residents to find ways to get involved with building safe communities.
