Hi everyone! It is time for a new release from Altenew and this one is so … calming! Honestly it’s the first word that popped in my head when I looked through the goodies when they landed on my doorstep. There’s adventure and travel, and serenity baked throughout my cards today, as well as some brilliant sentiments and I can’t wait to share them! Today’s post is part of a blog hop. If you didn’t land here from Erum’s blog, I’d recommend to head on over to the Altenew blog to start at the top! The full list of hoppers as well as details on the giveaway can be found at the end of the post!

My first two cards features the Mountain Builder Die set. These create dimensional shaded looking mountains of different shapes and are perfect for creating landscape cards. I paired my first with corally cardstock and kraft cardstock, overlaying them onto an A2 panel of the new Dreamy Sunset patterned paper – trying to create a look like that amazing time of day ‘the golden hour’ where the mountains look like they’re on fire! I even tucked a sun behind the hills (using the circle die from the set) lightly edged with Pastel Sunrise dye ink.

I kept the card simple and added this beautiful sentiment in white heat embossing on dark gray. It’s from the new Seas the Day stamp set.

My next card uses the Mountain Builder a little differently – I used the Stellar stamp (the main solid stamp) to create the background by smooshing ink onto it and spritzing with a clear shimmer spray and then stamping onto smooth watercolor cardstock (I have a video coming on this soon). Of course I had to choose all the ‘space’ sounding inks. You can see in places where the stamp created a twinkling star in the sky.

I stamped the ‘moon’ (a planet in the Stellar set) in Silver Lake and Gray Denim ink then die cut it out with the coordinating die. I also die cut out the mountains from two shades of gray cardstock, one of which I stamped this fun sentiment in Obsidian Black ink. I mounted them all on foam tape over the sky.

For my next card I’m featuring the Seas the Day stamp set.

I overlaid the Dreamy Sunset paper onto a notecard, flipping it so it looks almost like a hazy ocean horizon. I then created a scene using the Seas the Day boat stamped in Jet Black ink onto Spicy Yogurt cardstock and die cutting it out, along with one of the birds. I also heat embossed a few of the clouds in white embossing powder, and added a tiny little bit of pale blue Polar Bear ink blending onto the bottom to give more definition to the clouds.

I arranged all the elements onto the panel with foam squares. I also stamped this also awesome sentiment (love this!) directly onto the paper background in Obsidian Black ink. Isn’t this so true!

My final card today (and I have more to share later this week!) features the Mighty Waves 3D Embossing Folder. This card is SO easy, but so impactful because of the wonderful dimension on this folder. I embossed it from a deep teal cardstock trimmed to. 4.25 x 5.5. I then very lightly brushed Antique Gold Pigment ink over the top so it lightly brushed the ‘waves’ in varying intensities. Such a fun effect!

The sentiment is from an older set – Courageous You – but I thought it was so perfect for this folder, don’t they now make you think of active protons bouncing around?! I embossed. it in gold embossing powder on a strip of Jet Black cardstock and popped it up on foam tape to finish.
