Good morning everyone! I hope you’re doing well today! It’s time for a new release from Altenew and it’s a stand-alone die release! Woo! Today’s post is part of a blog hop that starts over at the Altenew blog. If arrived here from Norine’s blog you’re heading the right way!

My first card features the Abstract Seascape Slim Cover die. It’s perfect for creating slim line cards, featuring a fun modern ocean landscape. I wanted to use it to create a kind of inlaid die cut look with a color scheme reminiscent of Clarice Cliff pottery that my mum used to collect!

I die cut out the the image four times from Jet Black cardstock and stacked them together with liquid glue then adhered them to a slim notecard, leaving a white border around the edge. I then die cut it again from yellow cardstock, blue cardstock and a pale olive cardstock from my stash. I picked pieces from each of the colors and inlaid them into the diecut outline stack on the notecard with more glue.

To get that shine, I filled up each ‘well’ with Crystal Glaze – it’s a thin glaze like glossy accents, and when dry, it gives this glossy look like pottery! I almost didn’t include a sentiment but. in the end finished with this one that thought was quite serene.

My next card features the Peeking Leaves Foliage Cover Die. I created an inlaid look once more. This one is a lot more tricky with smaller pieces but I persevered! I die cut the die from gold mirror cardstock to create the outline, and adhered it to a sturdy panel of white cardstock completely covered in dry adhesive, then trimmed off any excess appearing around the gold border.

I then die cut the piece again from Birch Wood and inlaid the larger outline pieces within the gold outline. For the leaves, I used Spicy Yoghurt cardstock and pieced in each part of the leaves. I then mounted the entire panel onto craft foam for sturdiness and then onto. a white notecard.

My sentiment is from the new All About You Word Die set. I die cut the base shadow layer from vellum, and the main Hello from white cardstock three times, then stacked them all together and adhered directly to the birch wood panel. To finish, I added a few clear enamel dots to keep it subtle!

My final card puts the emphasis on the cover die rather than the main image by using a bright red pop of color. I die cut the new Moroccan Lattice Cover Die twice, once from gold mirror cardstock and once from red cardstock, stacked them with glue slightly offset so the gold peeps out around the red, then adhered it (add the glue around the border only or even use slim foam tape to create a shadow) to a white notecard.

I die cut three of the new Tropical Leaf Mix dies from vellum, white cardstock and gold mirror cardstock and adhered them (with glue down the centre or slim foam tape) in a trifecta the centre of the card, fluffing up the edges for dimension.

To finish, my sentiment. is once again from the All About You Word Die set, layered red on gold mirror cardstock to coordinate with the background with a tone on tone look, popped up on foam tape, with a little tuck behind the white leaf.

  35. These are beautiful cards Jenny! I think my favorite of this release is the Abstract Seascape Slim Cover die. I have been into making them lately and I will have to try the stained glass look. I am not sure if I have enough glossy accents though! TFS.
