Hi Everyone! I have another stop and another card to share on today’s hop featuring the new Paint-A-Flower from Altenew – the African Daisy. If you didn’t land here from Sandhya’s blog, I highly recommend starting over on the Altenew blog – I’m sharing two other cards over there to kick off the hop, as well as a video!!
My card on this stop features more heat embossing, and this time I opted to color the images in with Altenew’s watercolor brush markers.
I did go a little galactic with these – kind of a night time scene. I mainly used Dusk and Midnight Violet pens, as well as Rubellite. The image was heat embossed with gold embossing powder, and I used a few colors blended together for the night sky adding water flecks for some subtle ‘stars’. (‘mI using the Spring Garden set of markers).
When the panel was dry, I die cut it with the main frame from the Mix & Match Frames die set. I also tore off the top edge, exposing the inner core of the watercolor cardstock. This left me enough space to stamp the sentiment on the note card base, then mount the panel with foam tape. I did add some gold flecked translucent enamel dots to the flower centers to finish, as well as a smattering of gold sequins.

These are absolutely stunning, Jenny! Thank you so much for the wonderful ideas. I have just gotten my 88-year old mother to start making cards. She moved in with my husband and I in July following the passing of my father. She loves the “paint a flower” stamps and spends everyday creating (something) in my studio. We will try your techniques tomorrow. I’m certain she will be thrilled with the results.
