During the week of April 14-19, 2024, the NOPD Special Operations Division conducted an operation to enact arrest warrants on multiple suspects in violent crime cases.
The City of New Orleans Department of Public Works’ construction contractor, Hard Rock Construction, LLC., closed the travel lanes between Harrison Avenue and Germain Street (River Bound) to vehicular traffic today, April 22 at 7 a.m. This closure is anticipated to end Friday, May 17 at 5 p.m. This closure will allow crews to perform subsurface utility repairs as part of the $18.4 million Lakeview South Group B project.

Today, the City of New Orleans announced that Leatrice Dupré has joined the Administration to serve in the role as Press Secretary for the City’s Communications Office.
The Mayor’s Neighborhood Engagement Office (NEO) will host a Neighborhood Cares Day on Saturday, April 20 to kick off Love the Boot week. This event will take place in the Hollygrove neighborhood at Conrad Playground, 3400 Hamilton St. from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.
On Wednesday, April 17, the City of New Orleans joined Ujamaa Economic Development Corporation, to celebrate the completion of phase one of the Claiborne Cultural Innovation District (CID), “Backatown Plaza.” The CDI is an area underneath the I-10 expressway along North Claiborne Avenue between Toulouse Street and Orleans Avenue, and phase one stretches from Saint Louis Street to Orleans Avenue. This space is designed to serve as an economic and cultural haven for residents along the Claiborne Corridor.
