Hope Your Day Is As Beautiful As You Are! | Hero Arts April 2024 Release Blog Hop + Giveaway

Hello and welcome! It’s release day at Hero Arts and we’re celebrating the April release with a blog hop and a giveaway. If you’ve arrived from visiting Rosie Lopez, you’re right on track!

This month, celebrate the whimsical charm and timeless tradition of folk art with the April My Monthly Hero kit. This kit features three Color Layering Stencils with butterflies and flowers that are perfect for Spring cardmaking. Also included are sixteen coordinating dies and a Cover Plate die that partially cuts the design to allow for elements to pop up. A clear message stamp set with nine everyday messages and three beautiful Reactive Ink Cubes complete this enchanting kit. The Premium kit also includes a 4″ x 6″ Bird and Flower Clear Stamp set in a lovely hand-drawn style that comes with thirteen coordinating dies. Also included are sixteen colorful washi stickers that are perfect for quick cardmaking or using in planners. The Classic kit is a deal with $74 of value for $36.99. The Premium kit is a steal $109 of value for $49.99!

My card features elements from both the Classic and Premium kits. I stamped, colored and die cut a few folk images and a sentiment from the Premium kit stamp set and then used foam tape to adhere them to a small arched piece made using the Arches Infinity die set and white and Coral cardstock. Then I used more foam tape to adhere the arched piece to a background made using the cover die in the kit. I love the all the texture it adds to an otherwise simple background! To finish, I glued the card front to a card base.

Wishing You the Best

My second card features the Bird Family dies against a background made with the Color Layering Folk Art stencil set. I used blending brushes to blend each layer of the stencil set using Bermuda, Spicy Mustard, and Pumpkin Core inks. Then I cut two sweet birds from Adriatic cardstock. I used a white and black gel pens to add some details to each bird and then used foam tape to adhere them to the background. Then I stamped and die cut a sentiment from the Folk Animals bundle. To finish, I glued the card front to a card base.

Thanks For Being There | Hero Arts April 2024 My Monthly Hero Countdown + Giveaway

Hello and welcome to day one of the three-day countdown to Monday’s Hero Arts release! The beautiful new kit goes live at 10am PT on Monday!

For this card I used the the beautiful layering stencils and cover die to create a folksy background. The cover die aligns with the pattern and cuts details around the flowers and butterflies, including the butterfly wings. I trimmed the resulting panel a bit and then glued it to a card base, leaving a bit of the card base exposed on the right side. I pulled up the butterfly wings which you can see better in the photo below. Then, I added a strip of Mustard cardstock on the left, to help the pattern feel a bit more anchored.

To finish, I stamped and fussy cut a sentiment and adhered it to the card front using foam tape.

Thank you for coming by and I hope I’ll see you again on Monday for the release!

Wishing You A Beautiful Day | Simon Says Stamp Be Bold Release Blog Hop Day 2 + Giveaway

Hello and welcome! Today is day two of the Simon Says Stamp blog hop celebrating the Be Bold release and I’m very glad you’re here! If you’ve arrived from Lea Lawson’s blog, you’re right on track. And, if we haven’t met before you can find me here on my blog and also over on Instagram.

I have two cards to share today so let’s dive in!

Wishing You A Beautiful Day

My first card features the fun new Pretty Petals stamp set (also available in a bundle with dies). I stamped the flower and leaf outline images in Versafine Clair Nocturne ink onto a panel of white cardstock. Next, I stamped the layers of the bloom in Melon, Peachy, Cheeky, and Lemonade, and the leaves in Aspen Pawsitively Saturated Inks.

Using a die from the Nested Domed Arches die set, I cut out the flower, framing it within the arch. I stamped the sentiment, from the same stamp set, and then set the arched panel aside.

For the background, I stamped the Hand-lettered Friends background stamp in Versafine Clair Nocturne ink onto a panel of peach cardstock for a subtle tone-on-tone effect.

To assemble the card, I use foam tape to adhere the stamped piece on to the background and then glued the card front to a card base.

Happy Birthday

My second card features the new Lush Leaves die and Happy die. I cut the leaves four times, once from a light orange cardstock, once from a pink cardstock, and twice from white cardstock. I arranged them around a panel of white cardstock and used glue and foam dots to adhere them.

Next, I created the sentiment by cutting the detail layer from a dark pink cardstock and the shadow layer from white cardstock. I glued the two pieces together and added them to the panel with foam tape.

Last, I added a small stamped “birthday” sentiment before gluing the card front to a card base.

Thank you so much for visiting! I’m the last stop of the day but be sure to check below for the full blog hop list and information about the giveaway!

Hello | Simon Says Stamp Splendor

Hello, I hope you’re having a nice day!

Today’s card features the beautiful Half Spring Floral Mandala die from the Simon Says Stamp Splendor collection which I doubled up to create most of a full mandala.

I started by cutting the half mandala twice from Pastel Color Blend cardstock, which has a beautiful glossy finish, and twice from heavy white cardstock. I layered and glued each glossy piece over a white piece to create a bit of dimension.

Next, I stamped the You Are background stamp onto a 4.25″ x 5.5″ panel of white cardstock in a light gray ink. Then I used glue to adhere the two mandala pieces; I left the outer edges of the mandala unglued so that they lift away a bit from the background.

For the sentiment, I used the Handwritten Hello die set. I cut the detail layer twice, once from another piece of Pastel Color Blend cardstock and once from white cardstock. Then, I cut the shadow layer three times from white cardstock. I stacked and adhered the layers together and then glued the sentiment to an arched piece of white cardstock that I created using a die from the Nested Domed Arches die set. To finish, I glued the sentiment piece to the mandala and then glued the card front to a card base.

Thank you so much for visiting!

Birthday Wishes | Simon Says Stamp Splendor Release

Hello, I hope you’re having a wonderful week!

Today I’m sharing a card featuring the Topography background stamp from Simon Says Stamp. My first thought on seeing this background pattern was to color it in tropical ocean colors but I decided to use some yellow, orange, and peachy colors instead. What colors would you use?
