Ipsos poll: Andrew Gillum leads by 6 points, Bill Nelson by 5

Floridians also consider health care the No. 1 issue in this election, the survey shows.

Ipsos Public Affairs has a new poll out in partnership with Reuters and the University of Virginia's Center for Politics showing Democrats leading in both key races in Florida, and by nearly identical margins among likely voters.

In the race for governor, Democrat Andrew Gillum leads Republican Ron DeSantis, 50 to 44 percent. In the U.S. Senate race, Democratic Sen. Bill Nelson leads Gov. Rick Scott, 49 to 44 percent.

Takeaways from this poll: Health care is the No. 1 issue, and Nelson has an 8-point lead over Scott on the issue, 43-35 percent. President Trump has a 51 percent disapproval rating and 45 percent approval rating in Florida.

Ipsos surveyed 2,000 adults, including 1,069 likely voters from Oct. 17-25. The margin of error for likely voters is 3.4 percentage points.
