Dr. Bruce Williams of the University of Chicago has been an active researcher into the ancient Nubian past for several decades. He published eight volumes on ancient Nubia between1986 and 1993, a collection that is undoubtedly the definitive work on Nubia, in particular, and ancient Northeast Africa, in general.
Dr. Bruce Williams graduated from the University of Chicago in Egyptology. Professor Keith Seele, under the auspices of UNESCO and the University of Chicago, directed the initial excavations to salvage the Nubian artifacts in the Aswan region of Southern Egypt 1960-64. Dr. Williams published the results of these excavations in his monumental work. He continues to engage in archeological work in the region.
