I'll be honest, I'm not a huge seafood fan, and I was really hesitant to try this place.... I had previously tried some of their soup at a Yelp event and it was super good and they had a Groupon so I took that leap and took my family there for a late lunch.
I ordered the plantain fennel soup, and again it was delicious!! We shared a boil and ordered two chicken with fried rice bowls. Everything was absolutely delicious! The snow crab boil with garlic butter was fantastic! It was some of the best tasting crab I had eaten in a long time! I would argue that the crab, corn, potatoes, and sausage was probably the best boil you could get in the city! The fried rice with chicken was so good, and the portion was pretty large (we had enough for leftovers).
If you haven't tried this place, and you like seafood boils, give this place a try! I can guarantee you will not be disappointed! As a side note, the young waiter was incredible! He provided us with excellent service! That is a total win-win! Try this place out!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Aug 17, 2018
The food was delicious! We order 6 oysters and they didn't stand a chance! Very fresh and came with three sauces. We also had a pound of shrimp and it was really good. Seasoned very well!
The customer service was awesome, super friendly and answered all of our questions.
Definitely coming back !Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - May 13, 2018
Sorry I didn't setup a pretty photo. I was too excited! We walked in and I immediately knew I wanted a Cajun boil. My waiter helped me decide on a shrimp and crawfish combo. The boil broth should be sold as shots! So crazy good!
My husband ordered s salad, fried shrimp and the gumbo. He loved all three! The gumbo was nose-running spicy according to him. And that's a good indicator to him! LOL
We just moved to Albuquerque and we will be coming back! Often!!!!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Jan 21, 2017Updated review
Love 99 Degrees in the charming neighborhood of Nob Hill and what they represent, seafood boil or Stir Fry Seafood Udon always lures me back and an evolving menu at the customers feedback with passionate & very friendly owner & wait staff. Menu pricing is very reasonable in a clean & modern ambiance, what's not to love about a Local Seafood Kitchen that is on fire.
Folks Bib up & enjoy!!Helpful 11Thanks 0Love this 14Oh no 0Business owner information

May 16, 2016Previous reviewPrepare to get "Down & Dirty" at the upscale yet very friendly & inviting 99 Degrees Seafood Kitchen in the Nob Hill community, finally a Fresh Seafood Eatery in town. Our server "Emilio" was very helpful & attentive with the menu, helping us decide menu options, we chose one of their Seafood Specialties headless Shrimp with Garlic & Butter seasoning, and some add-on (corn, potatoes & bread) keep in mind that it is Market Price and by pound only, but have NO FEAR ........the Price is very reasonable for the amount of Fresh, Flavorful and cooked to perfection Seafood offerings. We also tried a bowl of Clam Chowder which was really tasty & creamy, just the way we like it, we closed out our delightful luncheon with some refreshing Mango Sorbet & Coffee ice cream. We met the owner "Vu" who is passionate, friendly and attentive and making sure his customers have a good experience while dining at his establishment. Kudos to any owner who cultivates his business with pride.
So if your looking for Fresh Seafood and cooked to perfection than 99 Degrees Seafood Kitchen is the choice. - Jeff F.Albuquerque, NM10017553Jun 4, 2018
Ok, we were scared at first, only for the fact that there was one waiter and about 10 tables occupied.
Wow, he managed to take care of every table, every customer and you did not feel neglected.
Great job.
The food was great. I like the fact that you do not have to get your food in a bag. Great selection of sauces to make the seafood POP!
The Snow Crabs in Garlic Butter and the King Crab in Cajun Spices were both hits!
Enjoyable experience at 99 Degrees Seafood.
Definitely a place I will return to.Helpful 4Thanks 0Love this 7Oh no 0 - 3505132122Jul 1, 2016Updated review
Awesome service. That alone deserves 10 stars.
As for the food, I tried probably all the seafood boils here in abq and their version of sauces were awesome. Their sauce has a hint of sweetness compared to other places. Which I liked. We tried the house sauce, the garlic & the lemon pepper. All very flavorful. Their sauce also has no oil & way less butter than other joints. Which is a huge plus. Just full of flavor. The garlic noodles, seafood udon & gumbo are also very good. We were also able to try the sherbets in mango, lavender lemon & peach. SO GOOD! Our new favorite seafood boil joint.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 3Oh no 0Jun 18, 2016Previous reviewAwesome service. That alone deserves 10 stars.
As for the food, I tried probably all the seafood boils here in abq and their version of sauces were pretty good. Different. Their sauce has a hint of sweetness compared to other places. Which I liked. We tried the house sauce & the lemon pepper. Both very flavorful, their snow crab claws cost a little more than similar joints, but I guess that's to be expected being located in nobhill. But everything else seemed similar in pricing. The soft shell crab was ok. Not much flavor in the batter unless you dip it into the brown sauce. Fries were pretty basic too. But I'll definitely be back for the saucy seafood. - Ashley P.Albuquerque, NM110418436Mar 18, 2018
Albuquerque's food scene is blowing up with seafood boil spots, and it's been my mission to try them all.
Our night started off with the jalapeno cheese nuggets of deliciousness. Perfectly fried and just spicy enough to have great flavor, they were perfectly paired with jalapeno ranch. I would 100% order them again.
Crablegs are my jam, and that's why we came here. I had visions of succulent, cajun flavored crab with some shrimp thrown in for good measure. I did get the succulent crab, and the shrimp too... but the flavor just wasn't there. I could SEE garlic in the bag, but couldn't taste it. We ordered the 'house' sauce and I just... never tasted a thing. It wasn't spicy, it wasn't cajun-y, it just was... there.
I will say that both the crab and the shrimp were cooked perfectly. Nothing is worse than overcooked seafood. The shrimp were clean and deveined, ans the crab was cleaned well also.
Service was really good. Way better than average for Albuquerque. Our server was on top of all of our needs and took great care of us.
I really liked that they give you a plate with all of your shellfish cracking tools, along with gloves in case you don't want to get your hands dirty.
I wish that the food had the flavor it was supposed to. This could easily be a 4-5 star joint, if only they could get that together. We'll definitely give it another go, if only for the jalapeno nuggets.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - 434308398May 20, 2018
This is our go to spot for fresh seafood! It's great everytime and their house sauces are the best. We always go for their crawfish, and sometimes for their snow crab legs. I love how you get a sausage, potato, and corn for EVERY pound you get!! Ask for Dom, he's the best. Don't forget to check in, you get free dessert!!

I have struggled with writing this review for over a week. All of the other reviews are so stellar that it made me wonder what happened on our visit.
First and most importantly, I must say that our waitress was running her legs off. She was handling the entire restaurant by herself and never stopped for a second. Unfortunately that meant that it took 30 minutes to take our order and another hour for our food to be delivered to the table. Then we waited another 10 minutes to catch someone to ask for utensils.
The fried shrimp were soggy and the gumbo had hardly any meat in it. The boil my son ordered was ok and the fried calamari was cooked perfectly but was bland. The poblano leek sweet potato bisque was dreamy (I would have given it five stars on its own). So it was a mixed experience food wise.
The price was pretty on par for a boil restaurant.
I was so excited to give this place a try and was sad it was such a disappointment. Hopefully they were just having an "off" day.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Bee C.Albuquerque, NM288165668Feb 1, 2018
It was my first time dining at this restaurant because of a discount coupon. I went there by myself for dinner. The atmosphere was simple and clean. I liked the open space and appropriate lighting.
As I walked into the restaurant, I was greeted by a host. She told me to sit anywhere so I decided to sit at the bar because I liked to interact with bartenders or chefs. I ordered seafood boil and deep fried softshell crabs. The crab was very good - ask for the house sauce (spicy garlic sauce). The boil items can be mixed and match. Give this restaurant a try - you won't be disappointed.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0
