Looking for Mexican food for breakfast when we found this place. Another hole in the wall in a strip mall. It wasn't too busy when we got there, so seating was easy. When it gets busy I would imagine there's a wait for one of their 8 tables. I zeroed in in the Menudo - love it and haven't had it for quite awhile and the Carne Adovada breakfast. Both came with a single large flour tortilla. The Adovada was delicious - the beans had a nice consistency and there was a lot of food on that plate. The large menudo was a little under-spiced. But condiments at the table brought it to taste. I'd much prefer under rather than over. Even before spices it had a good taste. Once again it was plenty to eat. Service was great - the coffee cup stayed full. Glad we stopped and look forward to our next visit.

Delicious tacos! I tried the Asada, Barbacoa, Al Pastor and Carnitas. I liked the Al Pastor and Carnitas the best. They come with lettuce, tomato, onion.
The servings are huge. Very meaty tacos.
The service was great. Real authentic food. I highly recommend this location if you want tacos. They had a lot of specials that looked good as well.Helpful 2Thanks 1Love this 2Oh no 0 - Nina C.Rio Rancho, NM116Feb 6, 2024
My first time trying this quaint but cozy restaurant. It's a bit loud when the dining area is full. The service was pretty quick and friendly servers. I ordered the three tacos with beans and rice special. I enjoyed the shredded beef taco, flavored well and tender. The chicken taco had no seasoning and was bland. The carne asada was tough and chewy but good flavor. Rice and beans were fine. I may give this place a second visit and try another dish.

Coming here more and more, constantly loving it. The service is always excellent, I tend to gravitate more toward Mexican rather than New Mexican personally. Their rice and beans are so flavorful, one of the best I've had in town. Pork tamale plate - delicious. Fajita combo plate I've been meaning to try and finally did with my wife - it was easily enough to feed 2 people and we still had leftovers. It was her first time - she was amazed. The fresh onions, cilantro, tomato along with guacamole and salsa. The meat is tender and delicious, perfectly seasoned. I want to try everything on their menu, including their breakfast. Their weekly specials look appealing as well. Very affordable, situated in an unassuming strip mall next to a UPS store. Always busy, which I love to see. Pay up front, kind service, tip them well! I'll be back just for the rice and beans!

Came randomly on a Thursday afternoon for lunch, very reasonably priced, excellent service. Young woman who helped ring me up happened to also be floating around serving food and checking on tables. She checked on me a few times when she realized I was sitting down, asked if I needed a plate and fork but I was ok.
Got the carnitas burrito and horchata. Horchata is not watered down by any means, delicious. Carnitas meat were succulent, fall apart in your mouth with an excellent fresh tortilla. Salsa was great, nice and spicy. Burrito was giant, perfect for saving half for another meal.
It was impressively busy for a Thursday afternoon, which was good to see. They are situated in an unassuming strip mall near a UPS and storage place. The young woman helping me said the Fajitas plate and Tortas are popular, so I'll be coming back to try those! - Megan C.Albuquerque, NM15420Jan 5, 2024

Good people and great food. I've been eating here for a long, long time and always enjoy their food. It's hard to recommend which plates I like to eat, it's all good. You'll just have to go and try it for yourself. Oh, and the atmosphere is OK. It is small and not a lot of seating.
Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Aug 2, 2019Previous reviewOh too bad so sad I returned to have food from this restaurant, the beans taste like out of a can and the fish tacos were nothing like they used to be just blaaa. . The red chili is definitely powdered chili. The service no good!I had to ask for my drinks twice and they came back wrong. The waitress that was bringing the food didn't know what table the food belong too. So she asked everybody in the dining room who had the fish tacos! No utensils to eat it with so I had to ask for those as well. I kind of felt like an animal, and one other thing you have to pay first When dining inside. I found out that this restaurant is under new management and a whole new crew has been assigned to this crappy restaurant. Used to be a great place to eat and enjoy Aesthetic Mexican food. I would even take food home, because the food was so good. I do not recommend this place At all, needless to say I will not return to this place, the food is no longer Authentic Mexican food boooo!!!!!
Jul 19, 2017Previous reviewTaqueria Mexico is a excellent place to eat for authentic Mexican food. Fast service and great tasting food. Get there early for lunch because the place gets packed!

I'm a semi-former Texan with a roommate who is a semi-former Californian and we APPROVE of this MEXICAN GEM hidden in the North Valley. It is worth the drive, worth the time, and the service was great!
Food was prepared quickly for both sit down and carry out (I did both in 2 days).
GREAT FOOD. GREAT TASTE. GREAT SEASONING. Decor is super fun too!!!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0
