Montgomery County Executive Ike Leggett will be joined by Prince George’s County Executive Rushern Baker, University of Maryland President Wallace Loh and other regional leaders as they commit to create pathways to opportunity for those who work, live and invest in the Purple Line corridor. The Purple Line represents Maryland’s largest transportation investment in the 21st century.

Hosted by the University of Maryland's National Center for Smart Growth, the Purple Line Corridor Coalition (PLCC) event will bring together the region's leaders and representatives of public, private and community stakeholders to sign and launch Pathways to Opportunity: A Community Development Agreement for the Purple Line Corridor.  The agreement articulates a collective vision for equitable economic and community development along the corridor and advances strategies to achieve that vision through the pursuit of four shared goals:  1) Support and grow local businesses; 2) Build a thriving labor market; 3) Ensure housing choices for all; 4) Support vibrant, sustainable communities.
