For Immediate Release: Thursday, February 15, 2018
MCDOT will hold a public meeting on proposed pedestrian and bicycle improvements to Goldsboro Road on Thursday, March 8, 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the Walt Whitman High School Cafeteria, 7100 Whittier Boulevard, Bethesda. The project proposes two, 11-foot travel lanes for a one-mile segment of Goldsboro Road (MD 614) between MacArthur Boulevard and River Road (MD 190), sidewalk, and a five-foot, one-way, separated bike lane in each direction.
At the intersection with MacArthur Boulevard, a four-foot, bikeable shoulder and an eight-foot-wide, shared use path has been proposed along the east side of the circle. Included in the proposal is replacement of the existing pedestrian bridge over Minnehaha Branch on the south side of Goldsboro Road near Wedgewood Road.
