Our Superintendent, Dr. Traci Pierce, will be joining our principal, Erin Bowser, tomorrow, Tuesday, December 5th at 9:15 am for the Principal’s chat and PTSA General Membership Meeting.  The LWSD School Board has voted to put one bond and two replacement levies on the February 2018 ballot. Dr. Pierce will present general information about the upcoming bond and replacement levy measures.  Hope you can join us! Dr.Pierce's presentation will be followed by a special PTSA General Membership meeting. After the presentation, the PTSA membership will vote on whether to support and endorse these ballot measures. The 3 LWSD ballot measures in a nutshell:

  • The 2018 Bond will raise $299 million with no tax rate increase. It will fund building projects that address growth and overcrowding, as recommended by the Task Force.
  • The Capital Projects levy funds critical facility and technology needs not funded by the state. The 2018 levy replaces the expiring levy with no tax rate increase.
  • The Educational Programs & Operations (EP&O) levy funds program and operations needs not funded by the state. The 2018 levyreplaces the expiring levy and decreases the current tax rate.
  • Total LWSD Tax Rate for all 3 measures: $2.93 per $1,000 assessed value (a decrease from $3.18 per $1,000 AV).
