President Trump admitted he tweets from bed and sometimes allows some of his staffers to post his thoughts for him.
“Well, perhaps sometimes in bed, perhaps sometimes at breakfast or lunch or whatever, but generally speak during the early morning, or during the evening I can do that,” Trump told Piers Morgan in an interview on Britain’s ITV Sunday. “I’m very busy during the day, very long hours. I’m busy.”
“I’ll sometimes just dictate out something really quickly and give it to one of my people to put it on,” the President said.
The New York Times reported in December that Trump tweets from his iPhone while plopped on his pillow and watching cable news.
Trump also told Morgan he needs social media to defend himself from the “fake news.”
“If I wasn’t able to do that because I get a lot of fake news,” he said. “If I don’t have that form of communication, I can’t defend myself, unless I’m going to have a news conference every 15 minutes,” he said.
The President also opened up about Brexit saying he would’ve taken a “tougher” approach than British Prime Minister Theresa May with handling negotiations and said he’s willing to apologize for retweeting anti-Muslim videos by a far-right British group.
