Restoring Our Democracy

The members of the Bipartisan Policy Center’s Governors’ Council led a unique public discussion with political and business leaders on how we can work together to restore our democracy and its model of civilized debate.

The governors have been deeply troubled by the divisive discourse in Washington and more so by the gradual decline in civility that now permeates the rest of the country. The governors embarked on a potentially transformative effort to harness the American conscience to demand better leadership from our representatives and better actions from ourselves.
