I thought Kaylea Cross was all done with the Crimson Point Series and I'm so glad she's not! Thai is a crossover from the Kill Devil Hills Series and Ryder was best friends with Chase Davenport from Adrift and a great supporting character there. Ryder has a whole host of demons and now we get to see how he conquers them. I hate it when an author hangs an anvil over the characters in the first chapter and makes us wait for that anvil to fall and wreck havoc all over everything. I just hate the waiting, but it sure can build the suspense.

Ryder Locke has some issues to work out on his Trip to Crimson Point on the Oregon Coast to spent the holiday with his cousin, Molly, and her family. He has recently been discharged from the Marines and is still carrying the battle scars from his last mission which ended tragically. The last thing he needs is to meet and fall for the sexy single mom next door. When she is threatened and the man isn't caught, Ryder will do whatever he can to protect her.

Danae Sutherland had come to Crimson Point to start fresh with her 14 year old son after the tragic death of her husband three years ago. She feel like her life has been in limbo and the new place and new job are just what she needs. Her son, Finn, is having a more difficult time and the friends he has made are not really his friends. When the hunky Ryder moves in next door she is blindsided by the instant attraction she feels. He's only here for two weeks and getting involved can only end one way - heartbreak for her. But, as danger finds it's way to her door, she is more than glad that her next door neighbor is there to protect her.

I’m a long-time fan of romantic suspense books and a long-time fan of Kaylea Cross. She writes edge-of-your-seat romance thrillers I just can’t seem to get enough of. She’s on my short list of authors that I will 1-click their books even without reading the blurb. I love her Crimson Point series, (OK, OK, I love all of her books!), so when she announced she was returning to the series and loosely tying her Kill Devil Hills series to it, I couldn’t have been happier.

I loved Ryder and Danae’s story. They’ve both lost so much. But fans of the Crimson Point series will tell you it’s the perfect place to come to heal. And that’s what they do. Not without some chills and thrills, though. Set in the Christmas season, with all of my favorite characters from the previous books popping in and out of the story, I’d say it’s probably my favorite one to date. Aside from the suspense, it felt like coming home for the holiday. For this romantic suspense junkie, the heart-pounding action was like the icing on top of a delicious cake––yummy and addicting. Per her usual, she had me up long past my bedtime because I couldn’t put my iPad down even to sleep. She’s a favorite for a reason, and this is just one more reason why.

DEADLY VALOR is the sixth instalment in Kaylea Cross’ contemporary, adult CRIMSON POINT erotic, romantic suspense series. This is former US Marine turned security specialist Ryder Locke, and veterinarian assistant /widow Danae Sutherland’s story line. DEADLY VALOR can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous story line is revealed where necessary. Some of the characters, were first introduced in the spin-off ADRIFT (Kill Devil Hills 3).

NOTE: Due to the nature of the story line premise, there may be triggers for more sensitive readers.

Told from several third person perspectives including Ryder and Danae, DEADLY VALOR follows the building romance and relationship between widow /veterinarian technician Danae Sutherland, and former US Marine Ryder Locke. Ryder Locke is only in Crimson Point for a couple weeks, hoping for some downtime during the Christmas holidays before embarking on his next contract ‘down under’ but meeting his next door neighbor Danae Sutherland and her teenaged son Finn, stirs something deep and protective within our story line hero when he discovers her back story as a widow and single mom. But all is not well in Crimson Point, as the drug trade has increased, and a mass shooting with a lone survivor pulls our heroine into the middle of a potential kidnapping that went all to h*ll. What ensues is the building romance and relationship between Danae and Ryder, and the potential fall-out as Ryder’s time in Crimson Point comes to a close.

Danae and her son Finn are new to Crimson Point, and desperate to make friends, Finn finds himself hanging with the ‘wrong crowd’. Pulled into something potentially dangerous and dark, Finn struggles to pull away only to place his mother in the direct line of fire.

The relationship between Danae and Ryder is one of immediate attraction but from the outset Ryder knows he time in Crimson Point is limited and short. Wanting a relationship that comes with an end date finds our couple saying goodbye leaving heart break in its’ wake. Ryder has fallen in love with our story line heroine, and walking away means leaving a piece of his heart behind. The $ex scenes are intimate and passionate without the use of over the top, sexually graphic language and text.

There is a large ensemble cast of colorful and energetic secondary and supporting characters including Becca and Chase (Adrift 3), and most of the previous story line couples. The requisite evil has many faces.

DEADLY VALOR is an intriguing, suspenseful and action packed story of murder, destruction, desperation and doubt; a tale of family, friendships, relationships and love. The premise is edgy; the romance is seductive; the characters are animated and energetic.

Ryder Locke is headed to Crimson Point to spend the holidays with his cousin Molly and to take a bit of time to try and get his head on straight from the demons chasing him after his last military deployment. What he didn’t expect to run into was the beautiful widow and her teenage son living next door to his rental house.

Danae Sutherland and her son Finn are new to Crimson Point and hoping a change of scenery helps them heal after the loss of her husband. But small town life is hard and Finn finds himself getting sucked into the wrong crowd. And, to top it off, that wrong crowd is involved in something much more nefarious than the drug deal Finn saw happen.

Danae and Ryder both know that what they have can only be temporary, but cannot stop themselves from falling into one another even as their world starts blowing up around them and danger is brought closer to Danae and Finn’s front door with each passing day. Will Ryder be able to keep this family safe while also protecting all of their hearts?

I’m so excited to be back in Crimson Point! This book brought together characters from Kaylea’s Crimson Point and Kill Devil Hills series perfectly. All three of the main characters are struggling in their own ways, separately, and seem to immediately fill the void they were all feeling. Danae struggles with loneliness. Finn is struggling to find himself in a new town without his friends and just with being a teenager. And, Ryder has ghosts from his past that won’t let him go until he drowns himself in a bottle looking for relief that won’t come from his survivor’s guilt.

I love how Ryder took time to get to know Finn even before he started pursuing Danae. And, how he took things slowly with Danae knowing he was unable to stay in Crimson Point long term. Finn is one heck of a kid with a great head on his shoulders, even if he is struggling. And, Danae . . . the things she is put through in this book . . . good grief! Yet, she stays strong and true to herself and her child throughout.

The action and plot to this story outside of the romance is quite intense and a bit unexpected at times, setting up new characters and storylines to come, which was exciting because I love this series! Kaylea Cross knocked it out of the park with Deadly Valor and I can't wait for the next book in January! 5 stars!

HAVE YOURSELF A MERRY LITTLE CRIMEWAVE IN CRIMSON POINT

It was an unexpected surprise and I was really happy to see that Book 5 Broken Bonds was not the last book in this series. I'm so hooked into these Crimson Point characters and the way they are family to each other. And this book has a Christmas theme which is an added little bonus for me. Some of this story doesn't add up and the dots aren't always connected, but Kaylea Cross writes a helluva good action scene, so I enjoy her books for what they are and I just go with it.

Ryder's a tortured but valiant ex-Marine and Danae is a struggling and still grieving single mom of a teenaged boy. Right there we have drama, then add in organized crime and high risk for the MCs and you've got nail biting situations and downright dread for these two lovers. You can't help but want them to find happiness with each other. They so deserve it. But trust me when I say Crimson Point has always been an unlikely place to find peace and contentment. I always wonder why anyone would want to settle there, were it not for the other Crimson Point characters providing love, solidarity, and much needed support. I love that Ms. Cross includes all of them so generously in all of the books in this series because you'll want to follow them as much as the MCs in any of these stories.

If you like romantic suspense these are pretty good ones. Crimson Point's version of Christmas isn't quite like yours or mine, but there will always be gifts in the end.

This book was intense and for the first time I couldn’t comfortably assume there was going to be a HEA, there was just so much life keeping these two apart, but the were so wonderful together I’m glad how it turned out.

First off, let's start off by saying that we are loving this series but, I have to say that I think that Danae and Ryder and Finns story is our favorite so far in this ongoing series.

There is a lot about this story that we loved the characters for one the easiness that happened between, Finn, Ryder, Danae. Both Danae and Finn have struggled for a while now from the loss of father and husband and moving to Crimson Point was a new beginning, and we were hoping it was a place they would feel comfortable enough to move on. I loved Finn, he was a really good kid who love is mom even if he is at the awkward teenage stage and loved how him and Ryder got on so easily. We also liked the fact that Finn was paying attention to what his gut is saying even when he was scared, he was being brave.

We loved Danae she was an awesome character so sweet, kind, loving, and a great mom, and we loved the fact she was always looking out for her son without pushing her will on him trusting him to make the right decisions we also loved how easily Finn and Ryder easily hit it off.

Ryder was a character easy to fall for, you felt the man's pain and regrets and burdens and his struggles. Ryder all in all though was just a great guy, even with his struggles he was a great catch, his interactions with both Danae and Finn were enough to melt one's icy heart.

Loved Dane and Finn as a couple, and lots forget Finn because Ryder's courtship was of two people, not just one, and even though it never started out that way it's the way it played out.

In conclusion, we loved the story that was packed with suspense from beginning to end, riddled with lovable characters. We loved the fact that even though you weren't looking for love it came so naturally, and it was just the thing one needed in the right time and place. Looking forward to seeing what happens next and if the teaser tells us anything, things are heating up once again in the sleepy town of Crimson Point.

Ryder Locke was introduced in book 3 in the Kill Devil Hill series and I remember feeling he had some major demons and that he was really struggling. In Deadly Valor we finally find out what exactly he has been fighting and it is heartbreaking. Events from his last mission have caused him to use alcohol to help get through the nights when memories get too difficult but he is realizing that it is becoming a problem. So visiting his cousin Molly and her family in Crimson Point was the perfect opportunity to get his head straight before taking up his new career as a bodyguard. During his stay he meets Danae Sutherland, the widowed single mother of her troubled teenage son, Finn. He is immediately attracted to her but he knew it wasn’t fair, his stay was only temporary and with the demons he was fighting, he knew he had to keep his hands to himself. As the days go by he befriends Finn and starts up a friendship with Danae, but he was determined to not go any further. But when Finn becomes embroiled in some criminal activity in this new town, Danae is inadvertently caught in the crossfire. His feelings towards both Danae and Finn have become so strong, he had to keep them safe.

The relationship between Ryder and Danae and Finn gave me all the feels. Even though it was such a short amount of time, their connection became so strong. Danae was able to see his struggles and became such a support to him. Ryder’s understanding of Finn and being a positive male model was so awesome. I absolutely loved the dune buggy scene with Walter!!

The suspense portion of their story definitely had me at the edge of my seat. There were multiple harrowing scenes throughout the story. This definitely strengthened the bonds of everyone in Crimson Point. It was so great to see all the familiar faces from the previous books. I am hoping to see more from this amazing town. This was such a great read, I had to give it 5 stars!

Ryder Locke has finally decided to spend the holidays with his cousin Molly and her family. He hasn't seen them in a while but he used to spend a lot of holidays with Molly. He's looking forward to this time to hopefully chase his demons away, and not with a bottle.

Danae Sutherland moved to Crimson Point to get away from memories of her late husband. Although her son Finn wasn't happy leaving his friends. Now she's dealing with him holing up in his room playing games online with those friends. Only today he's going to go out with someone from school, and take a bus. Something he never did in Seattle.

Ironically it's this interaction with Paul and others from his school that leads to the problems we see in this book.

Ryder first meets Finn, then Danae at the coffee shop run by Poppy, the sheriff's wife. He knew he'd meet all these people through Molly, he just didn't realize they already sort of knew him. Danae lives in the cottage next to his and she gives him a ride back.

I think one my favorite interactions with Ryder, Danae and Finn is when Danae is outside alone putting up Christmas Decorations. Ryder not only offers to help but insists on Finn helping too.

The putting up of the decorations, followed by dinner cements the beginning of a relationship with Danae and her son.

Of course none of this is going to be easy as it becomes apparent the boys Finn has more or less been coerced to hang with, are doing things illegal.

I found myself biting my nails as this story unfolds. We get to see everyone from the previous books and there's an interesting interaction between a woman and the reclusive Boyd at the coffee shop as well.

Plenty of action, suspense, laughter, tears and just the right amount of sizzle. I can't wait for the next book in this series.

This story highlights just how easy it can be for teenagers to get sucked into the wrong groups of so-called friends. Thankfully Finn is a sensible well grounded and brought up boy, he realises very fast and puts distance between him and them, sadly even that has repercussions. Danae is an awesome mum and is doing her absolute best, even when in danger she tries to minimise her risks to survive and get back to Finn. Ryder is absolutely fabulous with them both, supportive and friendly, attracted to Danae but not pushing for anything knowing he is only visiting for a short while. He isn't patronising at all to Finn but leads by example and talks on an adult level to him, by doing this helps show Finn a better way. There is lots of suspense and some horrifying violence which at times is graphic, intense and full-on. I loved getting Ryder's story after having read his debut in Chase and Becca's book in another series. He has his demons and PTSD issues but is determined to find ways to deal other than by drinking. There is an introduction tp the next characters as well. This is a story that gives readers of romantic suspense everything they could possibly want from start to finish, I was gripped and excited, I felt the various emotional responses to what was happening and loved the good guys. I must admit even two of the bad guys I sort of empathised with, they were in a bad place and just trying to find a way to get out and improve their lives, never expecting things to get so horribly out of control, though I don't condon what they were doing, I could see how they felt it was the only way. Another heartracing story.

Ryder Locke makes his way to Crimson Point to spend the holidays with his cousin, Molly, and her husband, Jace, and their little munchkin. But this trip isn't just to spend time with family. He's trying to outrun PTSD and survivor's guilt from his time as an active duty Marine as well as self-medicating with alcohol. He's determined to stop drinking and get his life together in time for his assignment guarding his best friend's movie star girlfriend from the Kill Devil Hills series. (Side note: Ryder caught my attention in Adrift, Chase, and Becca's book. I was thrilled his story was next).

He meets his next-door neighbor, Danae, and her son, Finn. Danae is trying to rebuild her life and reconnect with her teenage son, who is in danger of falling in with a dangerous crowd. Neither Ryder nor Danae expects the red hot attraction between them, especially since they both know nothing can come of it due to Ryder leaving soon and Danae needing to concentrate on her and Finn. However, events take place that throws them together.

I don't want to give anything away, but Danae is put into a life-and-death situation, causing Ryder to have to step in. In addition, Finn finds himself also involved, and this is where Ryder's character shines through. He steps up to help them both, and there's a race against evil to save the two people that are coming to mean everything to him.

Deadly Valor is a 5-star read. And I can't wait for the next book in the series. Congratulations, Kaylea Cross, on another fantastic novel!

Everytime I start reading a book by Ms Cross I remember why she is one of my favorite authors. I really like (ex)military stories and Ms Cross always delivers. I love her protective yet sensitive males and also that their women are not weak. They are strong, independent women who can handle themselves.
In this book we get the story of Ryder, whom we met in Adrift, and Danae. Ryder is in Crimson Point to visit his cousin Molly during the Christmas holidays. He moves into a cabin next door to Danae, a single mom with a son Finn. She lost her husband a few years ago and works at the veterinary.
There is an immediate attraction when they meet, but neither wants to start something because Ryder is only staying for a few days.
In the meantime Finn is trying to find some new friends and unwillingly gets mixed up in a bad situation with some bad people dealing with drugs and human trafficking. When one evening Danae's house gets shot at, things start to go all wrong.
What follows is a lot of action, suspense and of course in typical Kaylea Cross style the hero ready to protect and keep safe his heroine. It was also great to see all the characters from the former Crimson Point books.
I really loved this one and it was great to already get to know the new MC's of Ms Cross' next book, Boyd and Ember. I'm already looking forward to that one.
Highly recommended!

Danae Sutherland and her teenage son Finn have recently moved to Crimson Point. Finn left his friends behind in Seattle and is not comfortable making new ones. He has one local friend, Paul who he has been playing video games with online and meets with occasionally. One night some of Paul’s friends ask them to ‘hang with them’ and all of a sudden, he realizes the friends are not who they seem to be. He visits Paul again and gets forced into a situation he does not wish to repeat and ghosts Paul who is unsure of his friends as well.
Ryder Locke is a former marine with issues from his last mission before leaving the Marines. Now he is a bodyguard for a famous actress and being between contracts, he is visiting family in Crimson Point where he meets Danae and Finn.
As Ryder gets close to the family, trouble comes to the small community and Danae and Finn are right in the middle of it. Now, it’s a race against time for Ryder to save Danae from the criminal activity in this small town.

I love all of her books and this was no different. Ryder and Danae' story reads like all of her other book and I am not mad about that.

Ryder comes to Crimson Point to try to escape some demons and Danae had just moved for a change of scenery. Her son, trying to make friends, ends up with the wrong crowd and suspects one of them - and his father - of dealing drugs. When Danae ends up in the wrong place at the wrong time and finds herself looking at the end of a gun, she fears for her life. She and Ryder take an instant connection to each other and he wants to protect her while the gunman is still on the loose. When she runs home to grab something while working, she's kidnapped and it's up to Ryder and her son to save her.

I love that all of the female characters are written as strong women, yet not defiant enough to realize when they need help. And I also love that all of the male characters are alpha yet capable of opening up and vocalizing their feelings for the women in their lives. The only thing I don't like is waiting for the next book to be published...

Deadly Valor😱

Ryder’s story is next and follows on from the Kill Devil Hills series about a month or so after Chase and Becca get their HEA❣️Ryder goes to Crimson Point to catch up with his cousin Molly over Christmas and meets Danae and her son Finn.

In a twist of fate, Danae is put in danger after a series of events but luckily for her Ryder is around and can help her. Their attraction to each other is combustible but they both realise there’s an expiry date as Ryder will soon be leaving to be Becca’s personal bodyguard while she’s filming😢

A great story that kept me glued to my kindle and reading as much as I could in one go😍 Absolutely loved Ryder and Danae and Finn won a spot in my heart too❤️ Even Walter had me laughing with his dune buggy antics yet again🤣👏 I can’t wait to find out more about the new characters Kaylea has introduced and what she’s got up her sleeve for them😁

I received an advanced copy and voluntarily leave my honest review🤩

Widowed and vet tech Daena Sutherland and her son Finn have moved to Crimson Point for a fresh start. A tough move for a teenager, especially when he realizes his new friend’s actions seem to be illegal.
Ryder Locke , a former Marine , has come to Crimson Point to visit his cousin Molly and her family. He’s still dealing with PTSD, and too much booze after his last mission . What he never expected was how meeting Daena and Finn would change his life.
When danger comes to the town and Daena’s life is threatened, he will do anything to keep her safe.
But can he keep his heart safe and not fall in love knowing his stay is short?
This was another engaging story in this much loved series. It also gave us a chance to visit with some of the characters of the previous stories.
I am looking forward to the next book in the series.
I was entrusted a copy of this book. The opinions expressed are solely my own.

Kaylea has a knack for having the perfect combination of danger, chemistry and action in every book. This book was no exception. Danae is a single mother of a teenage boy and loves her group of friends in her new town. Ryder is visiting his cousin for Christmas, he has recently left the military and has some demons to deal with inside himself. When Danae and Ryder met there is instant chemistry and an amazing connection. As they grow closer Ryder develops a great relationship with her son Finn. As a unknown dander closes in on the town how will it affect the group? Who will get hurt? How can they stop it? I swear This series gets better with every book. I loved This book so much. It was fast paced and the action never ends. I’m already looking forward to the next book that has already been teased. As always I love Getting updates on previous characters. This friend group is so close and so supportive of each other. Bring on the next book!

Ryder is trying to move past his career as a Marine into a career in security however dealing with the aftereffects is proving to be much more difficult than he thought. Spending some time with his cousin may be exactly what he needs but Danae and her son Finn is a surprise he didn’t see coming. He is in no position to be part of their lives but walking away isn’t an option especially when he finds out they are in danger.

After the death of her husband Danae is looking for a new beginning and Crimson Point seems like the perfect choice. When Finn finds himself caught in a situation, he is having trouble escaping it places everyone in danger as they find themselves fighting for their lives and each other.

This is romantic suspense at it’s finest as the suspense is intriguing and action-packed while neither Ryder nor Danae are certain they have a future together as their lives are going in different directions, but their hearts don’t agree.

Danae is a widow trying to parent her teen son after the anguish of losing his father. She moved to Crimson Point for a fresh start. There, her son got mixed up with the wrong crowd. When Danae was in the wrong place at the wrong time, she became the target of deadly criminals. Ryder is the cousin of Molly (heroine from another book in the series). He came to town for Christmas to see her and also try to get his head straightened out after a traumatic end to his military career. Ryder is drawn to Danae and her son and is well suited to help protect her, since his new job is as a body guard. Overall, I liked the story. This series has bad guys and the problems that go with them, love, spice, and strong friend groups, so they’re entertaining reads. The love scenes seem a little rushed. And in this book, it seemed odd how little time Ryder spent with Molly considering she was the initial reason she came to town. But otherwise, a good book. I read the ebook. 4/5

Danea is a widowed, single mom that moved to Crimson Point not long ago. She works in a vet office and is trying to raise her teenage boy, Finn. Finn is having a rough time and ends up getting into the wrong crowd. Ryder is a former Marine and now is a bodyguard in California. He comes to town to spend Christmas with his cousin. He can’t believe how hot his neighbor is but he has too much going on plus he’s only there for a little while. Her son Finn, has put her in a criminal organizations sights and Danea doesn’t realize it yet. The closer Ryder and Danea get, the harder it’s going to be for him to leave.

Suspense. Action. Second chance for a widowed mom. I can’t even end this right without giving anything away. 😆 You know it has to be good when it’s by Ms. Cross.

We met Ryder in Kaylea Cross's Kill Devil Hills Series, and his cousin Molly here in Crimson Point. These two series come together when Ryder comes to crimson point to try and battle some of his demons. He meets single mom Denae and has an instant attraction to her, and thinks that she just might be what he is looking for. These two are perfect together, they both are working through things. Denae is a widower with a teenage son, and has moved to the area recently to get away from the memories. Of course, in typical Cross faction, we get that suspense element. When Finn, Denae's son, gets mixed up in some bad stuff and it comes after them all. This is ag great addition to this series, and you watch as Ryder comes to terms with his past because of those who love him most. And these two fit each other in a way neither ever expected.

Glad to get Ryder's story!

This one ties Crimson Point with Kaylea Cross' Kill Devil Hills series. You don't have to read the others, but it will enrich the story.

Ryder is fighting some serious demons when he meets Danae in Crimson Point. Ryder is visiting with his cousin, Molly, who is as close as a sister. I really enjoyed how both series tied in together and Danae and Finn were an interesting mother/son dynamic.

Danger shows up right at Danae's door and Ryder goes into full protective mode. As is common with these books - the danger builds and you almost can't read the pages fast enough to find out what happens. And of course, there is always a twist or two that you won't see coming.

"'You want to go with me'?"
"He would walk through a hail of gunfire to be with her."

Whew - the steamy chemistry was on point too!

I really enjoyed this series and can't wait to get back to either CP or KDH next!

I voluntarily requested and read an advance reader copy.

It feels like I've waited along time for Ryder's story but the wait was definitely worthwhile.

I'm glad that there is a 'crossover' between series and we get to meet up with some old friends again but Ryder, Danae and Finn are in a box all of their own.

I loved that Ryder found some small amount of comfort when visiting Crimson Point. I also thought he was the perfect 'father figure' for Finn, evidenced by an immediate connection that continued throughout the book.

But his almost immediate attraction to Danae was just lovely for the troubled ex-marine and of course vet-tech Danae.

The suspicion of local organised crimes, offers a mysterious thread to this sexually charged romance.

Another great addition to the catalogue of Kaylea Cross.

Deadly Valor- Crimson Point Series Book 6

This was an action packed romantic story as Ryder straightens out his life and finds a woman that makes it worth living Danae. Finn her son completes his new family as well. They started their love story on shaky ground as he was leaving Crimson Point, staying only through Christmas season but they could not deny the chemistry they shared. So many events happen to make this story amazing and keeps you on the edge of your seat as Ryder saves Danae's life and they put a criminal behind bars. As impossible as their relationship started out they do get their happily ever after in the end. I cannot wait to read the next release in this series and highly recommend these books.

Moving on together

Ryder and Danae. I have wanted to know Ryders story for a while since I started with the crimson point protecters. It is full of action, danger, love and beautiful imagery. I am confused by the ending as I thought Ryder was an owner of his company and not the manager for a satellite? Danae is a strong widow with a teenage son. She faces a lot in this book with being held up with a gun, kidnapped, her house shot up and more. Together they face all the drama, action and emotions head on. Great chemistry and addition to the other couples. We finally meet Boyd which has me excited bc I was wondering since he seemed a prominent character in his sons book. Can’t wait for the next read!

Needing to get away you head to a small Oregon town to visit your family. You try to stop the guilt and the need to relive everything over and over. Can you imagine the heartache that comes with losing your soul mate? Can you imagine reading that the small town you live in has a criminal element in the surrounding areas? It suddenly hits home when your family becomes involved through no fault of their own. Kaylea does it again as she takes you on a journey of trials, happiness, sadness, longings, horrors and finally love. Grab the book, you won’t be sorry.

I received an arc for an honest review.

I am so happy to be back in Crimson Point! The past characters have made this town such a great little place to visit. One thing that stood out to me was Danae and her relationship with her 15 year old son Finn. As a single mother, she and her son had a typical relationship. I mean many teenaged boys would rather be playing video games in their room than hang out with their mom. Ryder has been troubled with what happened on his last mission in the marines. He is struggling and not leaning on family or friends to help him. The best thing for him was meeting Danae and Finn. Together they are stronger and able to face everything thrown at them.

Take one trafficking ring, sprinkle in a drug deal or two and add in a kidnapping with a few murders. That's what faces Ryder when he retreats to Crimson Point to spend Christmas with his cousin Molly. His neighbour is single mom Danae, whose teenage son gets caught up with some not so good people at his new school.
When trouble and danger comes to the small town, it's Ryder that Danae turns to for help. But will the attraction between the two be enough to overcome Ryder's demons - and the distance his bodyguard job will cause?
A fitting instalment to the Crimson Point/Kill Devil Hills crossover, which I think is well worth the money.

I'm kind of sad that my binge of this series is over (for now at least), as Crimson Point and it's residents has embedded itself in a piece of my heart. This was the perfect book to finish on though, and the crossover from KDH series made it even more special. I knew Ryker's backstory would be devastating, but will he be able to fight his demons to get the happily ever after he deserves?
Yet another pulse pounding book from this talented author, Deadly Valor will have you madly turning pages while sending your emotions through the wringer.
Walter as always will put a smile on your face before it gets ripped off by another discovery.
Can't wait to see them all again hopefully soon.

Oh Ryder, you were worth the wait! Action packed romantic suspense with great characters. It's back to Crimson point with a bit of the Kill Devils Hill crew. Ryder is headed to family to try to deal with his trauma. He gets an unexpected shock when he comes face to face with his new neighbor. Danae has her own struggles. They may be just what the other needs. Especially when danger hits close to home. Catch up with fan favorite characters, including Walter! Danae and her son Finn are perfect additions to this bunch. The romance is sexy and sweet. The danger intense. There are heartwarming parts and parts that are full of humor. Another excellent read by Kaylea Cross.
