It’s the day many Cincinnati soccer fans have been waiting for since 2015, when rumors first began to swirl of a new soccer club coming to the Queen City. Over the team’s short history, they have awoken a passionate fan base unlike anything ever seen in Cincinnati. That passion and excitement has quickly grown, propelling them as a leading contender for a bid to become a Major League Soccer (MLS) team. Today, the hopes of the city and surrounding communities have become reality. FC Cincinnati has officially earned its place among North America’s most elite professional soccer division, beginning play at the start of the 2019 MLS season.

As friends and partners of the Queen City’s newest professional sports team, we at Mercy Health join the city of Cincinnati and our communities across Ohio and Kentucky to say congratulations to our FC Cincinnati family!

Above serving as the heartbeat of Cincinnati sports over the last two years, FC Cincinnati represents an organization dedicated to the well-being and happiness of our communities. Our shared values and commitment to bringing greater health, wellness and fuller lives to those we serve, sets the foundation on which we will build our partnership; to engage and positively impact the children, adults, and families across our region – together.

As the largest provider of healthcare in the state of Ohio, Mercy Health touches the lives of approximately 16,000 patients every day – but our mission to make all lives better in mind, body and spirit extends well beyond the walls of our hundreds of points of care. Our hearts and passion are rooted deeply in our communities. And through the expansion of our Ministry and our partnership with FC Cincinnati, it is within those communities that we will have an even stronger impact. We will join forces with FC Cincinnati to create local community gardens, soccer camps for under-served communities, health events, public health screenings and much, much more.

For over 160 years we have focused on improving the health of all people across the states of Ohio and Kentucky, and it is with great enthusiasm that we join FC Cincinnati and Major League Soccer to expand our reach, deepen our impact, and extend our mission to more lives than ever before.

We are thrilled to have played a small part in bringing the MLS to Cincy and all the opportunities this will create for the people we know, love and care for each day.
