Sandy Moore

On January 22, 2019  Yeshiva University welcomed Pollack Library's new Head Librarian, Sandra Moore.  Sandy comes to us from Allen Community College in Iola, Kansas, where she served as Library Director and Academic Support Division Chair.  In those roles she reported to the Vice President of Academic Affairs and was directly responsible for operation of the Allen College Library.  Sandy served on the Academic Affairs, Curriculum, Accreditation, and Strategic Planning Committees.  She also supervised a satellite location on the college's Burlingame Campus in support of a large population of online learners.  As Library Director, Sandy oversaw acquisitions, electronic resources, library technologies, reference services, library instruction, access services, interlibrary loan, library programing, assessment, and the Academic Support Division, which provides guidance to the writing center coordinator, math center coordinator, retention specialist, and online support technicians.

An alumna of Rutgers, Sandy earned dual degrees in philosophy and religious studies.  She also holds a Master of Arts degree in religious studies from the University of Kansas and a professional library degree from Emporia State University.

Sandy will help the university fortify research and information literacy instruction, explore open educational resources, and draft a collection development policy to balance acquisition of print and electronic resources.

A library for general studies comprising subjects in the liberal arts and sciences, social sciences, and business, Pollack Library focuses its services on students enrolled in Yeshiva College, Sy Syms School of Business, Katz School of Science and Health, and Wurzweiler School of Social Work.
